Can You Win Social Security Disability if You have Hearing Loss

Показать описание
If you are unable to hear because of age related hearing loss, or damage to your ear caused by injury or accident, you can pursue Social Security disability benefits.
2.10 talks about hearing loss in both ears if you do not have a cochlear implant and 2.11 discusses hearing loss if you do have a cochlear implant.
However, you do not need a listing level auditory problem to include hearing loss as a severe and significant impairment.
Hearing loss that does not reach listing level can be part of a functional capacity argument.
Your hearing loss may be part of or associated with another serious medical condition such as meniere’s disease, vestibular dysfunction or even a brain tumor.
From the perspective of a vocational witness, not being able to hear will eliminate entire categories of jobs - for example you would not be a good fit for working around hazardous equipment or moving machinery. You would not be a good fit in jobs that require extensive customer or co-worker communication, or many driving jobs.
Your other medical conditions may eliminate other categories of jobs so that when taken as a whole, your multiple medical issues would eliminate so many categories of jobs that you would not be employable. #deafnessandsocialsecuritydisability #hearinglossandssdi #menieresdisease
