I am a huge Mazda fan and I drive a 182 Mazda6 snowflake white pearl platinum+ (as it was known then). I have the 184PS diesel with the auto and I absolutely love everything about it. The most bizarre thing about driving it is the attention it gets on the road. It's a rare car nowadays but I'd take a saloon over yet ANOTHER crossover any day! Not sure if we will get the next generation Mazda6 in Ireland because it's going to have rear wheel drive with an inline 6 cylinder engine, can't imagine too many sales in Ireland unfortunately. Love Mazda, long live Mazda!

A car you buy with your heart, not your head.

I think, Mazda 6 is in the bracket with Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Ford Mondeo and the likes. It should also be in the league of VW Passat.

What about fuel consumption? I owned a 2015 Mazda 6 2.5 and I was getting 7L/100km. It's a fantastic car. Alas, in Ireland the big engine won't sell.

Not just Europe where the saloon is dying.

Sales ratio in Australia (6 vs CX-5). In a market that was dominated by mid-large saloons only 10 years ago, this year CX-5 has averaged 2000/month (2700 in May21), and the 6 only 150/month (164 in May21)

Given the weather, how long ago was this filmed Anthony, or did you just have an unexpected ‘summer’ cold snap in Ireland? (Scrap that, just realised you said “May” in the first seconds of the clip 😖)

Gearbox and engine do actually work rather good. No clue what the reviewer is on about. It changes gears very good, engine is more than powerful. BMW is better, but its actually a notch better, maybe someone wouldnt even notice it. But you would certainly notice the price, which is up to 20k euros more for the base 320i.

To me, Mazdas are the best "normal" brand you can buy, sure the likes of BMW make more powerful and sporty cars, but they're a lot more expensive to buy and run.

After Mazda, Volvo are about my next favourite brand, after that, I might buy a Volkswagen if I was stuck, but I find them very plain and I dislike diesel and turbo engines.

Of course it's a pity the MPS wasn't more successful and we don't get more Mazda sports cars in general - a new RX was teased in 2015 and we've heard nothing since! 🤔🤘😀 .

Mazdas always tried to offer more bang for the buck but they just don’t do the volume of Honda and Toyota . If you are a price shopper Mazda is going to be slightly more expensive than it’s contemporaries because there isn’t the same discount ability as the higher volume programs are more expensive.

Lovely car. Avoid diesel and avoid auto. Mazda really gunna struggle this decade as an independent car maker without massive money for R&D.

And only three months after my last comment, all the specs have gone up another €1, 000 each!
(When the actual specs were only slightly refreshed two or three years ago and had their last major refresh pushing five years ago!)

Do they actually want to sell cars to normal people or only to bankers and millionaires?! 😯😐😂

When is the new model coming to Ireland?

Still can't buy any good mazda 6 tourer in ireland. No AT option, no engine options, simply... no options. I always had mazdas and I'm fan of company, but it is time for a change.

Eke!!

If you can afford a new 6, or know anybody that can and wants one, you better buy one quick, as it looks like Mazda is about to kill them off for good, with no sign of a fourth generation in sight!!

Indeed I know that Mazda has been constantly refreshing the 6 since 2013, while they released a fourth gen 3 about four years ago, but as "old' as it is, the third gen 6 is still great and it's been great that you could still buy a new one when so many other companies are killing off saloons altogether and certainly not many around making them the way Mazda still make the 6, petrol, naturally aspirated, manual first and foremost and just the right size!!

But indeed while we've still been able to buy the 6 saloon in three specs for many years, the estate lost all above its' base spec about three years ago, while it was the opposite way in the U.K.

But the biggest warning sign that the new Irish 6s are running out is that starting about two weeks ago, while you could still select your desired spec, gearbox and colour etc, all the little extras like puddle lights and side skirts etc are gone...

While looking at the U.K.s' Mazda website, the 6 is now totally gone there and in other countries!!

Sure we can still buy a 3 and its' about 90% as good as the 6, but it's smaller and rather plain at the rear!

Anyway, as said, buy a new one when you can!! 😯😐 .

Mazda, give us a rear-wheel-drive sedan, don’t listen to those noobs!

It's kind of shocking rewatching this video to see how much the price of the 6 (and most cars really) have shot up in less than a year!

In this video, the three specs are listed at 34, 000, 40, 000 and 47, 000 are now 38, 000, 44, 000 and 51, 000!!!

They must think everybody is rich! 😯😐

(While the 6 started at €29, 000 in the second generation! 😐 .)

The interior is horrifying. Also, the lack of Skyactiv X engine in the range counts against it, maybe wait for the upcoming replacement model with the X engine and MHEV, it will be a quality car.
