Notice how Ben didn't answer the question. He was asked if he was there not if he attacked Ian. To me thats telling. He would be lying if he said he wasn't there so he answered with the truth "I DID NOT attack my brother"

I am putting my bet on Max, for the battering as Jake Wood is stepping behind the camera and they are writing Max out.
In this global environment, it is best they keep folks apart. Quit being prats that they are keeping the actors safe. Also, the storyline seems to be leading to the guys having a rough patch. If you follow the show in its entirety looks like half the square are at odds with their other half right about now.
