From Impressment, the Quasi-War with the French, the war with Tecumseh's confederation, the Burning of Washington, and the creation of the American National Anthem, this video covers it all! Longtime watcher of this channel, first-time commenter. But I learned more about the War of 1812 from this video than I ever did in any of my school history classes. And I was born and raised in Buffalo, THE major city of the Niagara region. I also made many visits to Fort Erie and Fort Niagara growing up, and saw battle recreations. So that's saying something, because elementary history classes there do put a little bit of focus onto the War of 1812. But most of us have a hard time remembering why it started or what happened. And lord knows they tend to omit the parts about us trying to invade Canada.

As it happens, not only was this video very detailed, I also found it very fair and even-handed.
