I helped my dad negotiate a new Accord Hybrid Touring in October of ‘24. We were trying to buy a ‘24 because I knew they would discount them more than the incoming ‘25s. The local dealer only had 2 Touring models and they really wouldn’t negotiate that much. The problem was that they added this ridiculous dealer package on to the car for an extra $1800. They expect the customer to pay for these dealer add ons that we wouldn’t have otherwise chosen. They would have been much better off trying to upsell us these add ons instead of forcing them upon us. Anyway, I drove to a much larger dealer 40 minutes away and tried to buy a ‘24 from them. They did not force the dealer add ons and would give us the price we were targeting. They tried to sell us a ‘25 over their existing ‘24 models. I initially dismissed the notion because I knew we could get the ‘24 a bit cheaper and the only change between the two year models was that the ‘25 had a heated steering wheel. In the end, it came down to an exact $1000 out the door difference to get the ‘25 over the ‘24. We chose the ‘25 and are thrilled with the car. Yes, the front end isn’t the prettiest and we have no need for AWD. Otherwise, people are sleeping on these Accords right now. The car is actually really good. I wouldn’t consider the 1.5T option but the Hybrid model is exceptional, especially in the Touring trim. He’s been getting around 45-46 mpg. The car drives great, is very roomy, comfortable, quiet, refined and has great tech features. My parents briefly considered a CRV but decided they would rather drive a sedan. I think they made a great choice. The Accord checked a lot of boxes for them.

💯 They went 20 years back in design, not in a good way

Because they got rid of the 2.0 turbo engine. With the 2.0 turbo, they had something coming close to entry level Audi/BMW/Mercedes in performance while delivering far more interior volume at lower price. Without the 2.0 turbo engine, they are in the same sandbox as Toyota, Hyundai and domestics, all of which sell less expensive midsize cars.

I don’t mind the Accord’s styling. I’m happy they still make a sedan, with or without AWD. What I do mind in the tiny 1.5T engine in a larger car. That engine still has chatter about oil gas dilution problems in all Hondas equipped with that engine.

The problem of the accord is the incorrect pricing and sales model.
I wanted to buy or to lease the accord a year ago. The given price was similar to a much more luxury car like Volvo s60. Sales manager didn’t care that I was leaving disappointed and didn’t even try to offer a better deal.
And the same situation is everywhere.

Otherwise, I love the design and exterior look.

All wheel drive is a marketing option that people believe they need but do not, the Accord is not selling because it’s ugly

I wanted a 23 Accord EX last year. I had 8200 equity in my trade. In Texas, my car insurance was jumping 445.00 in my 6 months. I refused to pay 100.00 more in car insurance a month for a sedan. I got a 24 HRV EXL and my insurance jumped 240.00 in my 6 months. I didn’t want a suv but the lower insurance did it. I paid 29, 000 on the HRV. No add ons. My car payment is 342.00. I financed 20, 500. My loan in 14 months is 8400. I’m paying extra principal. I don’t mind the current accord style. It’s the high as hell sedan insurance in Texas of 340/350 a month. My HRV insurance is 240 a month. I prefer the Accord. But not the high insurance with the payment.

It was a shock to see the latest Accord as compared to the last two past re designs. It looks like someone hired a Oldsmobile designer from the 1990's to design the latest Honda. I mean DAMN...what a disappointment. And I am not even going to start on how Honda and Acura's don't have more hybrids in their line up to compete with Toyota and Lexus

Honda is not as reliable as before. Many people are having second thoughts.

Accord sales are down 19% YOY, not 50%. Do your research. Civic sales are up 23%, which could indicate customers are opting for a lower-cost option that is rated very highly and it doesn’t have AWD. This could also be indicative of the fact that Honda dealerships aren’t interested in negotiating, almost arrogantly.
CR-V and Pilot sales are both up YOY by 12% and 27% which signifies the continued shift to SUVs. Honda also eliminated the sportiest powertrain when it got rid of the 2.0L with the 10-psd auto combo. That combo accounted for a certain percentage of sales for them that they probably did lose to Camry. And I see Accords everywhere and I live in a town where Rolls Royces and Bentleys are commonplace.

Strong Camry, Corolla, and Civic sales disprove *all* sedans are dying. Besides styling, Accord's other big problem is the undersized, overstrained 1.5T.

Thank you for your honest review! I have a 2018 Honda Accord sport with a manual transmission. Compared to the new Accords, my car looks like a Ferrari! Thank you for saying what I’ve been saying regarding the latest remodel.

The look of the new Accord sucks! 🤮

I got rid of my pilot just in time before the info came out about the engine failure and transmission failure. Traded it in about two months ago and got top dollar for it.

Most people don't need AWD, they just think they do or they're told they do by a salesperson. When repairs have to be made to an AWD system or when you need to replace 4 tires at the same 🤷🏻‍♂️

Part of the reason Accord sales are down is because they are moving the Accord to the Indiana plant with the Integra and Civic. Marysville Ohio will be the electric vehicle hub for North America. Also, most Accords on dealer lots right now are on stop sale because of the steering rack recall because of a lack of parts.

Honda Accord design team also designed the 2 X 4.

For the Accord & Camry I don’t like the fact if I get a higher end model I’m forced to buy a hybrid.

I bought a ‘24 Accord Hybrid EXL and I love it. They took $3k off while Toyota wanted full MSRP for a comparable Camry. Total difference was about 5k less for Accord than Camry.

I took advantage of the fact that nobody liked it and I got a hybrid sport L at such a good discount I financed it instead of leasing it which I went in there with the intention of leasing one…so what your saying is 💯
