When your rusty old engine is seized and locked up tighter than a bank on Sunday, how do you get it moving again? @PowerNationTV put every possible remedy to the test, from commercial products to everyday household items, including some recommendations from viewers. Check out what worked (was it penetrating oil, rust removers, or homebrew concoctions? ) and what it took to finally get it moving.

Is there something we didn't try that you think will work? Leave us a comment and let us know.

Please don't ever make a video using that crappy I-phone camera effect. Oh yeah, give Kroil a try. I think ya'll will be very pleased with it.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I've got a 67 vett 327 that's locked up with rust, I'd like to save it if possible, I'll use these ideas in hope of a favorable outcome.

I came to the right place. I'm going to try to restart my dad's 1960 F100 that I parked about 20 years ago. My dad bought it here in town brand new in 1959. It was running when I parked it. This is going to be fun!

i have quite had a few engines like this and my go to is apple cider vinager... works the best .. v8.. fill one side row of pistons set to sitting up on engine stand with apple cider vinager for 24hrs then turn the other side row of pistons to up and fill those with apple cider vinager and let sit for 24 hrs .. now you will be able to work crank back and forth using a flex bar and crank snout socket or pipe wrench with a rag wrapped on the snout so not to damage it and it will break free and clean the rust off the bores with the rings as you turn it over...

The video looks just fine. People griping about it are just not happy unless they're upset about something. Fun vid.

I dropped a 216 babbitt rod chevy 6 in a tank of water.
It was rusted about the same...stuck solid.
Picked it back out after 30 days, and turned it over with a wrench.

Saw a guy clean all the bores once then boil oil on a stove and pour it in to the cylinders.

You didn't use my concoction to soak it, maybe next time straight vinegar let sit 24 hours followed by diesel fuel same 24 hours difference being o do it with the head still on filling the crank case completely

Ideally, you should be using the air hammer at the same time as pulling down on the bar so it works together, not either one or the other.
