I really spent the last year of my life doing this. I don't know why I did this. I think it's probably because of my love for scams. I don't think scams love me back, though. I also wouldnt say this was a scam, just a really bad business practice. Would I attend another timeshare presentation after all this? You tell me after watching the video. I think I would, though. I probably will. Like, yeah, it's a waste of time, but I would actually take this again.

Thank you for watching! Please consider subscribing and sharing the channel if you enjoyed it. More adventures on the way.

In this video, I investigate and go to a timeshare presentation that promised me a free vacation. I discuss the tactics used by timeshare companies, the ups and downs of the experience, and how you can, but should not get what was promised. Watch as I am insulted, redirected, lied to, and how I walked away with a free trip.

I've posted this in the community tab as well, but I see a lot of questions about the deposits. We did end up getting both of our deposits back.

The first with VI ($40) was returned during the sales pitch, and the second with Cassablanca ($100) was mailed back to me around the time of the upload after I called to request for it.

"If i had your hairstyle i would have been lynched" has to be one of the craziest non sequiters to drop at the end of a conversation

As someone who dislikes phone calls and dreads sales pitches I get vicarious satisfaction out of seeing you hold firm to get the trip without budging to the sales pitch.

I went on one of these trips when I was 19-20. I knew what I was getting into and told myself that I was just going to enjoy the weekend and would breeze through the sales meeting at the end. Well, their hard selling methods were so intense that I almost signed up for a timeshare. I called my parents and told them what a "great opportunity" it was and my mom literally said "get your ass in the car and drive home. NOW." I'm so grateful she did.

I ran into some dudes selling these in Vegas. I signed up and told the guy I had zero intention of buying and he just straight up spared me from going to the presentation and just gave me the free tickets which I used the next day. The whole thing was hilariously easy.

“I love scams, and since I’m not famous enough to start my own…” 😭 clock it!

my parents used to take me on these kind of "free" vacations every couple of years. I never realized how much effort they put in to make sure I had some great childhood travel memories.

The one time YouTube recommendations actually recommended a new channel with a high quality and enjoyable video.

Dude, you are the exception to the rule. They're like "Sir, you're taking a trip to hell" and you're like "sign me up!" That never happens. Incredible patience.

The idea of being stuck in a room with these people for literally any amount of time is my idea of hell.

Denying single people also completely stops the "I have to talk to my Significant Other" objection entirely, which is easily the most common soft no any salesman (or scammer) gets

Mad respect for you pissing them off so much they gave you a trip, and making the most out of it.

What is incredible to me is how many people are tied to this scam. It started at a booth at a dog show, to a non descript building, to random mailing address for money orders, to call centers, etc. who are these people!????

Jerry was the filter. He was called in once they realized you just wanted a free vacation and had zero chance of selling you on anything.

The chair latch thing is definitely a tactic HAND IN HAND with requiring couples. It's so that in order to leave, you BOTH have to say no and get up together. It makes it that much harder to indicate that you want to leave. Can't scoot your chair back.

It's honestly a bit satisfying to hear that they were eventually forced to give you the free trip but it also makes me feel so sad for the hundreds of people who were scammed by these predatory companies.

The fact that Boeing engineers were pioneers in the timeshare scam industry makes so much sense
