Hi Nicola, great video as always, thank you. The big issue with this new Kia Niro is that Kia have been supplying faulty cars (your colleagues at AutoExpress had two on long term test, both faulty). Purchased mine last August, back to a Kia main dealer twice last year to fix a fault with the gearbox which doesn’t always change into sixth gear and failed. Rejected the car at beginning of December. Kia Finance had an independent inspection which found that there was indeed a faulty gearbox but they are refusing to take the car back. So it has been sitting on my drive not being used since mid January whilst waiting on the Financial Ombudsman before going to court. Had to buy a replacement vehicle t9 keep me mobile in the interim. Have to say that both Kia Motors UK and their finance arm (Santander) have been appalling, it is bad enough that I continue to pay almost £200 a month for a car that I cannot use but to be ignored by them, arghh!! So, any of you out there thinking of buying Kia.. don’t. Terry

This video is 9 months old so just wondering if the gearbox issues have been fixed? Undecided on a Toyota Corolla or a Kia Niro.. but don't like the sound of Kia customer services

I like the split level screen, better than a boring monolith and helps differentiate one from the other... They are different, one media, one for driving.

All the modern smaller versions of cars seem to get most of the great tech of the larger models now. I guess it’s as much of the tech is software driven and it’s cheaper for manufacturers to develop and use just one version. Apart from size of the car, engine power (but often not economy and green credentials) and posing, the smaller cars offer better value and fit better on our congested roads if you don’t need a big car.

I think if I was described as "perfectly adequate" I'd be very disappointed 😂

I ordered the 2023 HEV model, lets hope it's a good one, will be my first time owning a Kia!

Testdriven it a few weeks ago. Pretty nice car with a lot of options and more space than I expected. But for me it was not so comfortable on the highway due to tires and wind noise and aboveall, couldn't find a good driving position. The door design limits where to rest your arm with the same problem in the center console.

You had me at "pootling around town." I'm not sure what pootling is but since you said it, I now want to pootle around. I like playing with the "flappies." It helps me to get better gas mileage with regenerative braking. I didn't even notice the screens weren't at the same level. Now I can't unsee it. And I love your husky voice. 😉

51.2 mpg ? I suppose you mentioned its advising the freezing temp and batteries aren't at their most efficient in the cold and wet, but you're not driving it properly. 58mpg in the coldest, wettest weather, but well over 60mpg is hard to not achieve, up to 80mpg around town

No! Use the flaps for changing regenerative breaking levels! You will easily increase MPG in the city to 60+MPG by using the levers to break. Use the gear changes to reduce RPM on hill climbs when you don’t need to increase speed on hills.

I have a kia nero hybrid 2023 I use it to go winter car camping in the mountains with friends and the thing thats annoying is that if i put it in nuteral with the car engine on to blast the heating all night the engine starts and wakes me up after 5 mins then turns itself back off wich disrupts my sleep. Is there away around this so i can have the heating on without being disrupted every 5 mins be much better if the engine came on every hour instead of 5 mins. I put the car in eco mode is there something i can do to avoid it coming on so frequently.

Is this NIRO hybrid the 120PS or 140PS model?
