Maybe they will be kinder to their dev community now instead of issuing perma-bans because a dev forgets to mark their app as unsuitable for dogs born in July.

20 testers for an app is sucks. As a developer, I hate this.

Not to mention having to verify and display our home address publicly online for anyone to see. Insanity for solo devs that work from home.

A very welcome change! Hopefully paves the way for the future.

About time Google were put firmly back in place. The Play Store is nothing if not for the developers, and it is time they started respecting that.

They deserve it, for making devs to require 20 testers

I wish we could get human responses from the Google play team even if it meams paying more for the developer fee or even annually, similar to how Apple does. The fact that an AI can just flag a whole developer account for termination without any notice or even support after that is just totally crazy and mind blowing

Google banned me from receiving payments from the IAPs my users are purchasing.

They say that I haven’t completed some document correctly, but they don’t mention what is incorrect.

After many months of mails, now they say the payments are banned forever for my account.

So the people still buy IAPs from my apps, but the money goes to Google 100%

Another problem of creating new play console account one my friend didn't A of android development spend 8 months in learning and then was so happy for publishing App on play store he created new play console account by watching a YouTube video google terminate his account just by saying prior policy violation. A person who completely new to Development even create account by watching a video for the first time how he could have any account in past. Now he can't create account for lifetime this is biggest hell of Google nowadays.

That 'you can only use play billing api for payment' was like Google play is north korea and my app is its citizen. All hail democracy!

The worst thing i ever faced was 20 testers policy😅

Hopefully they remove the 20 testers requirement, because that's a dumb way to get rid of bad apps or spam apps.

They destroyed my career 😭, falsely blaming me of multiple violences 😔

Now that there is a chance to take back a tiny bit of our own souls that google took from us, we should make a non-profit organization for handling store and billing .

I totally agree brother. Google Monopoly should be broken. Forcing stupid policies to implement.

In my country, Google Play doesn't support billing for developers, and it doesn't allow alternative payment methods. This forces us to rely solely on ads for monetization, which is extremely limiting.

Worst Policies:
20 Testers for 2 weeks.
Can't delete apps from console even which were never published (that was only for checking the in-app update functionality).
Publicly displaying full home address.

I'm currently in the learning stage and publishing my first app, I haven't created a developer account yet and these things are demoralizing me, the worst thing is to show the physical address of my house, I don't want everyone to know where I live and come visit me if something goes wrong with the app. Another thing that scares me a lot is that I've read about a lot of people getting banned for life for small mistakes, I'm really scared of getting banned after spending months learning. I hope they find alternatives, because i really like Android development.

Great news!
I bet Google will think of a way to make other app-stores unattractive (like limiting google services, if you don't use the Play Store?), but additional competition is so much needed in this case.
Btw: Does Apple still require to use their payment API for in-app purchases? Or did they change this in the last years?

Their excuse for enforcing such policies is a cliche. How could a larger variety of choices hurt developers and consumers, but having a single arranged locked down choice wouldn't? The only reason for their appeal is to take full control over distributing apps on Android and profiting on the developers behalf. I sincerely hope their appeal case will be dismissed.
