Yep! Not worried about Black Friday. Was definitely good times but now we need to worry about holding onto our jobs, homes and getting everyday textiles just to make it to next payday. Not gonna get any better

My wife and I aren't going to spend a dime shopping for the holidays, except investing in gold and silver for us. People need to do better with their money and quit throwing it away on junk!

Friend of mine just got a notice her homeowners was going to cancel her due to too many trees in close proximity to her home. The estimate to remove them is 25K, she found another company, higher cost but way cheaper than 25K. Gotta love how they had no problem with the trees a few years ago when they wrote the policy.

Last time I shopped Black Friday with my kids was about 2018. Deals aren’t very good anymore imo. And we are cutting back spending/gifts due to this economy.

1. I never shopped by standing in line to buy a television.
2. With years of experience, I knew when sales would occur on different products, yatta yatta.
3. This year, the marketing is different and because I read business publications, it was clear that sales would start in October. Doesn't matter whether the sales would start because of any of the public officials who are attacked every day on youtube programs.
4. The sales kicked in on October 1, 2024. I had chosen a product to follow this year. The price was cut drastically and I bought. It was also clear that the price drop on this product would not accelerate over the next two months.

Seasonal buying history comments.
I learned from my late wife to follow the "sales" and the seasonal nature of sales. As a result, we always had a room filled with "wedding presents" and presents for the Los Angeles orphanage downtown. It is a good practice. I buy pre-schooler presents, neighbor presents, graduate presents, holiday gifts in advance, year round.

Last black Friday. There weren't any deals. Everything was marked up .. nothing was any kind of deal . it's just another meaningless noisy gimmick nowadays

They did not used to put out any Christmas Decorations until after Thanksgiving. Now they start before Halloween. By the time Christmas gets here it is worn out. Nothing in this country makes any sense anymore.

We are led to believe that thieves can rob stores with impunity so long as their shopping list is below 1 grand. If so who needs black Friday?

Black Friday went over the cliff in 2008 when two were killed in a shooting inside Toys R Us when a couple of fathers got into a fight over the Tickle me Elmo doll. Tragic.

A few years before, 2002 or 03 at Walmart a pair of sisters at the door buster Friday morning were trampled by the stampede for the $29 DVD player. One ended up hospitalized.

Black Friday has been watered-down to near irrelevance. As Dan would say- back in the day there were incredible deals. Real Deals.
