Tbh if I was only mildly contracting I can understand. Most places you have to reserve an appointment in advance and some places have cancellation fees...
I personally wouldn't book any appointments so close to the 40 week mark, but I can understand why someone might feel like they have to finish up prearranged engagements.

Pregnancy does weird shit to your brain. I cut all the size tags out of my son's clothes because I was worried they would irritate his skin(I also looked for and cut out loose threads after all the baby losing toes and fingers horror stories), cut to me trying to sort through all the clothes I got in so many different sizes so I could dress him.. I have never been more annoyed with myself lol

I know this is the kind of person who is scared of posting pictures online or looking back at pictures from their baby's birth and being insecure with how they look... but I have a feeling that baby isn't gonna give a crap about those lashes and they definitely aren't gonna help with contractions... so whyyyy

This happened a lot with make up artists for birthing. I used to run an event organisation and one of the mini packages we offer was birth documentation services that includes photo, video, decoration for the room, makeup and hairdo, and a nice birthing gown, and also cute props for photoshoot after. A lot of the mothers are literally experiencing contractions while having their makeup and hairdo.

Hello from a mother! My children are grown now but when I was in labor I did my nails on the car trip to the hospital. Giving birth was a pain because I couldn’t hold my husbands hand but my nails were dry just in time to hold my sweet baby for the first time! Amen 🙏🏻💞
