This lesson covers the Pythagorean Theorem, which states that the sum of the squares of the lengths of the legs of a right triangle is equal to the square of the length of the hypotenuse, or a^2 + b^2 = c^2. Students are then asked to find missing side lengths of right triangles using the Pythagorean Theorem.

ok, thanks for not over-complicating things like my teachers do

This explanation was absolutely perfect. At my school, the teachers do a very poor job of teaching kids techniques on the Pythagorean Theorem, not just that, but any topic. Youtube is a better source for me to learn math....how sad...

A 2 minute YouTube video is actually better than 1 hour of Math class😂

This just proves teachers care more about how long we spend on work then how quickly and efficiently we can learn it and do it. I am a strong believer we don’t need to be at school for 7+ hours 5 days a week. She literally just explained my 2h 30 math class too me in literally less then 2 minutes. And with my math class I was still confused 😐

What my teacher has been trying to input in my brain for weeks, you did in .15 seconds. I swear I didn't even need to finish the video!!!

Honest to God, you just blew my mind on how simple this is. I got left behind in maths back in the 80s because it wasn't explained this beautifully.

You can also know that since it's square (90°), you can always just subtract the square(90) from the 2 side you multiplied and squared . 100-90=10

Excellent video. I know I’m going to have to teach this eventually, so I was looking for a quick recap. This was perfect. Thank you

I don't think my teacher was bad at teaching math I think it was the fact I was 13 years old and in math class at 8:30am barely awake with other kids distracting the class and where I stayed up the night before until midnight playing video games and was on a fresh diet of pizza and boxed Mac and cheese to fill my thinking juices. This is just the reality of the education system and how it needs some rethinking. This is the last thing young kids want to learn lol. As an adult I came here voluntarily to learn this for practical reasons and I learned it quickly and absorbed the information thoroughly.

I heard someone say something like “think of math as a language” & all i can say is this lady explained it really good! My only question is is this the only time ill need the pythagorean theorum? With right triangles

My math teacher left us because of "emotional abuse" and we don't have a math teacher any more, at least not a permanent one. This is helping me and I just got a 2 on the eog, a 33, so I'm trying to pass the eog for the second time. Thanks you;D
