WHY DID BRITAIN SAY 350 PEOPLE DIED WHEN IT WAS 1000+? | Jallianwala Bagh Memorial park
Jallianwala Bagh (जलियांवाला बाग) is a public garden in Amritsar in the Punjab state of India, and houses a memorial of national importance, established in 1951 by the Government of India, to commemorate the massacre of peaceful celebrators including unarmed women and children by British occupying forces, on the occasion of the Punjabi New Year on April 13, 1919 in the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.

We are Eleise and Lawrence & Nyh – A young family from the south of England. Like many people the pandemic gave us a shake up! While watching hours of Mark Weins in Thailand – We had our “Ah ha” Moment. We decided we wanted to travel.
Enjoying working for ourselves, we didn’t want to give up our business and decided it was entirely possible for us to do both. So we set about making it our lifestyle to work in the UK for a month, and then travel for a month – month on, month off…. until our little boy Nyh goes to school! We want to inspire people that you don’t have to up-sticks, sell all your belongings and leave behind family to be able to see the world.

Our Philosophy. Work, Travel, Repeat.

This was unquestionably the most emotional experience of our travels so far... The anger & frustration ME & ELEISE felt towards some of our own British people when we walked around the park was massively overshadowed by the Indian people's understanding, compassion & overall heartfelt acceptance. You really are a class act India. Thank you again 🇮🇳 🖤🖤🖤

More regrettable is the fact that the British royals haven't said sorry till date. That's a load their citizens have to carry on their shoulders.

Almost every Indian who has done secondary education knows about this massacre.. that's part of our syllabus.. i still remember my history teacher literally explaining this entire scenario with an invisible rifle in hand and people running around in all directions.. i do remember that after he explained this entire thing he told us " FORGIVE BUT DO NOT FORGET " ...

The visit to the park needs courage and honesty to accept the wrong doing by British people.
I could somehow connect with you how bad you must have been feeling to know what has happened then.
Hats off to both of you.
God Bless both of you to feel like you felt in the Park.

As a Sikh, I appreciate you guys going to the Jallianwalla bagh and logging this in your travels. Yes, the British government at that time was ruthless to India, but I like to think that times have changed. And you guys going there and having empathy for the lost souls shows that. Thank you.

I stopped watching this vlog in the middle only to stop myself from hating British people. I know today's generation is not the same as their ancestors, but still as an Indian from the city of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose I can't help but it only boils my blood to think about the horrendous act by British.

Anyways I loved your videos. Thanks for visiting our Incredible country. ♥

My grandfather used to tell me how Indians had to get an official certificate made from the Govt, 'allowing' them the right to sit on a chair in front of a Britishman. Signboards with 'Dogs and Indians not allowed' were also a common sight at many public places. It's funny because just yesterday I was enjoying a beer with my British colleague and we celebrated Diwali together.

this is not the only massacre done by British on India. between 100 million to 200 million people died in British induced famines over the years in India. there was an untold holocaust which caused the deaths of almost 10 million people over 10 years beginning in 1857, after the first independence movement of India. at least 100k people were killed in Delhi. total population including small children of many small towns and villages which took part in the movement were eliminated. many forests were completely burnt including tribal people inside it. unfortunately Brits were the ones who have written Indian history. so these things are very much hidden.

It's not current british people mistake and u don't have to be embarassed about anything which your predecessors did, only advise would be to make sure ur current and future generations knows about it and never ever exploit any people, all men and women deserve Dignity, never feel Guilty for something which you have not done, just make sure you learn from history so that bad things dose not repeat, Much love to You and your family ❤️ just to tell you again, Your son is such a cutie ❤️❤️

The nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore was so devastated by the massacre that he refused the knighthood offered to him by the British crown.

Your concern and empathy are appreciated. Must be tough to come to terms with the wrongs perpetrated by your country in the past. So kudos for going through that. Times have changed and hopefully we'll never see another Jallianwallah Bagh ever again!

Good morning guys from Julia and myself in Wales. This is such a powerful vlog and we knew nothing about that terrible event back in 1919. The way the Indian people were welcoming to you there, in that place just makes you respect them so much. Thanks for this vlog
Stay safe and well. High five to our mate Nyh Nhys 🤚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇮🇳

LOL if you think Jallianwala bagh was the only British massacre in India.

1. On November 17, 1913, the British gunned down more than 1, 500 unarmed Bhils including women and children on Mangadh Hill, on the border between Rajasthan and Gujarat. They were shot by machine gun fire for protesting against "Unpaid forced labour" a.k.a Slavery.
2. On March 7, 1922, British officer, Major H.G. Sutton, fired on a large gathering of peaceful tribas at Palchitaria. Reportedly, 1, 200 people were killed in cold blood.
3. On 25 April 1939 300 farmers were shot dead by British in Odisha for peaceful protest
4. Perungamanallur killings, which took place on April 3, 1920 where british declared an entire tribe of Indians as "criminals" (freedom fighters) and shot them in cold blood.

This is just a few that immediately comes to mind. There are at least a 100 more.

Not to mention the 3 Million Indians killed by Starvation in just Bengal by diverting grains to england to be stored as "buffer stock".

The kind British ran "Labour camp" to "help" feed starving Indians. After 8 hours of hard labour, they were given 4 Ounces of grains (400 calories) to feed their family. Compare that to "concentration camps" for the Jews run by Nazi's that gave the inmates 1000 to 15000 calories per day.

"Shame" is not something one associates with the British. I am sure you will get over your temporary distress in no time.

I am a madrasi Tamil Indian living abroad - as soon as I saw the wording about Jallianwala Bagh massacre - automatically my eyes swelled with tears and started to rolling town. Many British atrocities and massacres - this one is unforgettable it won't go from all Indian mind - a deep scar! Today Indian origin PM is ruling the UK! Time is changing, all colonist will pay the price sooner or later. Thanks for remembering those unfortunate souls and your visit.

Great video and a great family! ❤ This is one of the reasons why Rishi Sunak becoming the UK Prime Minister is huge for South Asians, regardless of which party they follow or if they like Rishi or not.

Makes me sad, it has nothing to do with you both specifically still you feel somewhat accountable is what only people with love in their hearts could do. I wish people back then would've thought and felt like you both. LOVE & RESPECT 🙏🏻

I have travelled to India several times this year and twice went Amritsar but not once thought of going to this park however, Sikhs have endured so much torture and difficulties in the past and now we are stronger than ever but the British monarchs still owe us a massive apology for what they have done. The fact that you went there shows how much you care. Your son is so cute by the way and he keeps saying a new word everytime I watch your videos 👌🏽
