I love OLED and HDR. Sometimes, I'll be playing a game like say, Ghost of Tsushima, and I'll come through some trees or something and get hit the face with sunlight, and actually squint out of habit, because it looks so much like real sunlight. Soon, we won't even need outside because we'll have better graphics on a screen. LOL. we already don't go outside. We're doomed.

I've had PSVR2 since day one and as an experienced VR veteran, it's awesome and I dig the games they have for it and look forward to all the confirmed games

I think by this point some where around 50% of the psvr og games should have been worked into psvr 2. Or in some super-smart way to enable the studios to be able to port them to the ps5 as stsr wars squadrons was awesome on psvr and would be nice to have it even just ported to the ps5.

i really like VR... i go excited for this but held off because i already have a variety of games on the quest - but for psvr there doesnt seem to be a lot of VR games and nothing that stands out... the other issue is that you don't have a wireless option... but the main thing that stopped me was the lack of 3d movie support

PSVR has given me some of the most amazing experiences of my life. I really thought backwards compatibility with PSVR2 was a given. When they announced it wasn't, that killed it for me personally and I continued to go down the Quest road instead.

I cracked the code. Facebook paid off Sony
an absurd amount of money to do nothing.
How can Sony create such an awesome unit
and not have any support to it? And not care
about it? I believe this is the reason that
makes the most sense.

Imagine a PSVR2 with Sony constant communication, updates, Big exclusive titles, VR chat, big screen. I think they could beat out the quest. But yet they dont even try. Seems odd to me

Honestly I remember being so excited for mine to arrive I had to distract myself, it worked so well I missed the first day delivery. When it arrived the day after though I was beyond happy with it, but to be honest I don’t really use it anymore. Maybe every couple months, but only on special occasions when I’m in the mood.

I love my PSVR2 but for me personally it would almost be unplayable if i didn't buy the third party over the head strap, but everyones different.

GT7 is boss but I'm right there with you that the window is very small. It needs more exclusives and something neat like haptic feedback game

Its had 7 VR exclusive releases so far with 1 more supposedly on the way this year.

These are all typically titles with higher than average production values than most VR games with 1 noticeable exception.

I think they have outpaced other platforms for higher production value VR exclusives this year.

GT7, RE8, Horizon, Before Your Eyes, Dark Pictures, Synapse, Firewall Ultra, RE4 R. (yes I know Firewall is a mess).

I imagine this early in its life it might not justify the purchase if you are heavily invested in another platform, but for new releases moving forward it is setting a decent trend.

I'm waiting to get into VR when there's more experiences like GT7. I want it to be more of a peripheral. Want to play HZD or Cyberpunk with the DualSense? Ok! Want to play them in VR? Ok! Same game. Same save file. I don't really want it for little side game projects. I'm sure it is amazing for what it is though, and GT7 would be unreal for sure. I just need a few more experiences available like that before I'd invest in it. Anyhow, great video mate. Appreciate the thoughts on it!

I had a very similar experience with the PSVR2. I feel I’ve definitely got my money’s worth so far. GT7 also totally sucked me in; I got a wheel set and stand, too. That game is so awesome. Can’t wait for the PS5 Pro so they can release a version of the game that doesn’t need to have reprojection.

Red Matter 2 is the best looking game I’ve played so far on any headset. At least from the standpoint of being crystal clear, which makes the stereoscopic effect much more compelling. I can’t wait until more of the visually complex games can be rendered at the same resolution.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It was a very interesting video.

I would'nt say Horizon is a first step into VR for Sony! They've been doing it for years. Arguably they were doing it much better before too honestly. I have both, still prefer the first one

I really like the headset. GT7 is incredible and has ruined all other racing games that dont support VR for me now. While there are some other great AAA games (Horizon, RE8, RE4), it was pretty disappointing when Sony didnt announce anything else on the way. There are too many low quality Quest ports with really bland graphics that look like mobile titles or budget titles from 2007. There are some greats like Pavlov, but as much as i enjoy it, im reminded of the wasted opportunities from Sony to do a really good FPS of their own or the lack of interest from EA or Activision to do any kind of Battlefield or CoD VR. RE4 is on the way and ill play that, but if theres no news from Sony next year then this device is going the way of the Vita.

this headset needs a mid cycle update sooner than mid cycle tbh. lenses need to be pancake controllers that last more than an hour and a half and with the huge rings gone on them also, and the comfort isnt as good as psvr 1 its went backwards . haptics are the shit oled also, face interface blocks all light and linking to pcvr would be good

Hell, pay these modders out there to full on PSVR2 support games. Get Dead Space in VR dammit.

Got my headset a month ago, and love it. But the mura... I don't know if mura is the same in every headset or if it worse/better case by case. But you definitely stop noticing it while playing vr games, however.. one of the things I was looking forward to with the headset was playing flat-screen games in cinematic mode. Something like dead space in a pitch black oled environment sounded awesome, but for flat games, the mura ruins it for me

Fair enough summary of PSVR2 so far although I would say the launch lineup of over 30 games was pretty impressive.

I played GT7, Horizon COTM, Kayak VR, Moss & Tentacular as well as the free demos for the first few weeks then started to build a decent back catalogue of VR2 games.

We've also had quality ports like Red Matter 2, Hubris, Walkabout Golf, Saints & Sinners 1 & 2 and decent exclusives like Synapse & Switchback and more will come.

OK recent releases like Ghostbusters & Foglands have been poorly reviewed but will get better with patches and updates and many more to come like Vertigo 2, Wanderer and don't forget Resi 4 VR mode soon!

Let's not forget these AAA games like Horizon COTM can take a couple of years (at least) to make.

I would like to see an Astro game in 2024 and some sequels to PSVR games like Farpoint and Blood & Truth and some AAA Sony bangers.

the sweet spot issue was my main concern & hope for improvement over the original ps vr headset, that's disappointing it hasn't improved
