A Thai court has dismissed Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin for appointing to his cabinet a former lawyer who was once jailed.

The Constitutional Court ruled that Mr Srettha had violated the "rules on ethics" with "the display of defiant behaviour".

The 62-year-old, who had been in power for less than a year, is the third PM in 16 years to be removed by the same court.

"third PM in 16 years to be removed by the same court" does not give the full picture. If you exclude the PMs appointed by the military i.e. only count those voted in by the Thai people, it is every PM in the last 16 years.

I swear, Thai Prime Minister can be dismissed for any reason, including appearing on a cooking show.

*I would love to criticize the whole predicament in Thailand, but I live there and I don't want to go to jail.*

If you follow the history especially recently, any country with military pressure is backwards. I'm not suggesting that all government models work for every country but we need to be fair. Perhaps this country will eventually evolve to a better country one day.

In Southeast Asian Nations, Corruption is like a God, like their Traditions, like their national Flags, I feel so sorry for their Innocent Citizens. They will never change. Never. Never. Ever.

So the lawyer, Pichit Chuenban, was sentenced in 2008 with "contempt of court" after a lunchbox containing 2 million baht (~£45k) showed up before his two clients' trial in an apparent attempt to bribe Supreme Court officials. The money wasn't his (it was one of his client's), and I don't know what evidence they had against him other than being their lawyer at the time, though he ended up serving six months of jail time for it.

When Pichit got out, his law license was suspended for another five years.

If he was involved, that time would have served as some kind of wake-up call. I don't think he would have tried the same thing again. The fact that he had been through the judicial system also likely made him a better lawyer.

Not sure if the judicial system has a 'growth mindset' before taking such drastic decisions. There could be other alternatives for appointing an ex-convict. As if rest of them are holy cows.

When it comes to democracy, Thailand has never had it.The military party has both weapons and courts, so why hold an election?

The sin of Thailand
For Thaksin's survival
For Shinawatra's power
Thailand has Paethongtarn as the prime minister
Thaksin is monopolizing Thailand to the point that Thai politicians bow their heads in a row
The party that Ung Ing said she would turn off the switch also agreed to join hands and let Thaksin Shinawatra monopolize the country
We have a prime minister whose father was a convict for corruption but has never been in prison
How will the prime minister respond to foreigners when his father escapes prison
We have a prime minister who comes with a past of leaked exam papers and he immediately becomes more skilled
Seriously, Ung Ing, do you know how many provinces there are in Thailand?
This is clearly a sin of Thailand.
