For anyone with this specific engine, I've completed used oil analysis several times with Pennzoil Ultra 5w20 using the Maintenance Minder, averaging 7500 miles with absolutely superb wear numbers. The first time I switched to this oil I did have to add some makeup oil, but the last 4 oil changes, very little to none needed. I'm using either Purolator classics or Mobil 1 filters. I switched to Fram Synthetic on this current fill to see if there's going to be even better numbers next time. Blackstone recommended I could go another 1000-2500 miles beyond 7500 on this particular oil but I'm sticking to the Maintenance Minder, changing at 15%.

Was there a reason you didn't pre fill the oil filter before installing it? I know it takes about 0.2 qts of oil, and since it goes on vertically, I always fill it up so I can just use 4 qts even in the engine so it doesn't run dry when the oil pump starts.
