【Pls look at the top comment first】As the frontman of 1980s hair metal legend Autograph, Steve Plunkett released his solo album "My Attitude" in 1991. I consider this album as a branch and a continuation of Autograph, one of the greatest 1980s icons with the million selling. Like the album's title, to hear his attitude and reach out for his rock n roll world, don't miss his "My Attitude".

This album features Steve Plunkett on vocals, guitars and bass. As an all-around musician, Steve's solo debut is a good example, which has proved his strong strength in songwriting and producing by himself. The original disbanding of Autograph in 1989 was a pity, but the coming out of this album more or less displays what those glorious years and brilliant works that Autograph had.

Speaking of Autograph, this name was originally a solo project of Steve Plunkett, formed in late 1983. Until a group of musicians gathered together with him, a formal band was founded. Plunkett chose the name "Autograph" for the band, having been inspired by hearing Def Leppard's similarly titled song, "Photograph" on the radio.

"Turn Up The Radio" was the lead single from their debut "Sign In Please (1984)". The song received significant MTV airplay, due to the song being their only big hit, Autograph is typically categorized as a one-hit wonder. The success of the single boosted the sales for its parent album, with the album being certified gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) on April 1, 1985. According to Steve Lynch, the lead guitarist of Autograph, they didn't except great commercial success for the song "Turn Up The Radio", but he always appreciated its strong hook, commercial appeal, and lyrics that were right for the times, which finally made it a big success and meant a lot to Autograph as well as Steve Plunkett's solo careers.

The original version of "My Attitude" was distributed by Quality Records in US, including 12 tracks while its German release was on the label of Koch International Records, including all the bouns tracks. If the German release is available, it is a desirable choice. To review the big hit of Autograph "Turn Up The Radio", this time Steve Plunkett added it with two versions as the bonus tracks but sound a bit different from Autograph.

Preciously, Steve Lynch still supported Steve Plunkett in his solo album, playing solos in the theme titled song "My Attitude" and "You Make Me Bleed". Besides, a group of guest musicians joined this album's recording project including Vivian Campbell, Tim Pierce, Butch Walker, Danny Johnson, Michael Parnell and more, especially on lead guitars and keyboards. Mainly produced by Steve Plunkett with the executive producer Billy Meshel and engineered by Tom Weir, "My Attitude" is absolutely worth listening to.

What is your favourite album of Autograph? Personally, mine is "Loud And Clear (1987)", the last release before they originally disbanded in 1989. Muscially, "My Attitude" sounds close to "Loud And Clear". As a hard rock release, this solo debut of Plunkett takes on more melodic sounding than some other releases by the contemporaries, so is "Loud And Clear" of Autograph. Does anybody feel the essence of aor in this track "Think About It" about the desire for the missing love? It's truly melodious to appeciate.

Including both hard rock and melodic rock works, "My Attitude" covers both rocking side and soft side of Steve Plunkett. Apart from this track "Think About It", one of the favourites for most listeners, I highly recommend the opening track "Heavy Pettin'", the 3rd track "Every Little Word" and the 6th track "So Mysterious", all of which are written and arranged with Def Leppardish style. Generally, the music features of this album truly have intercommunities with Def Leppard like strong riffs, splendid backing vocals and catchy rocking tunes. Vivian Campbell was in Steve's recording team before he joined Def Leppard, playing solos in the 2nd track "Louie, Louie", the original version of which was a 1963 great hit from The Kingsmen. Even a ballad from this album like "If I Had My Way" can remind me of Def Leppard's electric version of "Two Steps Behind".

Some people saidAutograph's days were gone since 1990s. IMHO, have a try of "My Attitude" and cherish it to feel the last inspiration from Autograph because in the early 2000s, the band changed style to a heavier taste and the present Autograph since their reunion in 2013 is without Steve Plunkett.

It's good to share this type of music, but I feel that not many are worthy of it. 80's AOR is for those who like and understand this rock music is only for those with discerning taste for melodic hard rock. I would also recommend you listen to Outside Edge, "Guilty" and then you'll know what I'm telling you😎👍
