Covered in monoclonal antibodies - specific to hCG + fixed to test tube (can’t move).
Left side:
(where you wee)
Covered in blue beads attached to monoclonal antibodies - can freely move around.


Not pregnant:
Urine washes blue beads off - going over fixed anti bodies
Strip won’t go blue

Pregnant:
hCG binds to antibodies on blue beads
Antibodies move and bind to fixed antibodies.
So many blue beads are on strip -> shows up blue
