Antibiotic resistance:

1. How?
- There is a colony of bacteria
- Bacteria develop random mutations in their dna
- Occasionally bacteria less affected by antibiotic
- Antibiotic kills most, but resistant survives, quickly replicates, new colony of antibiotic-resistant strains
- Passed to other people, different antibiotic
- Superbug - MRSA
- Doctor often give out antibiotics where they wont help anyway
- Widely used in the food of healthy animals to prevent them getting ill and grow faster

When random mutation occurs in bacteria, it changes characteristics that can cause the bacteria to be less affected by antibiotics

Are antibiotic producing isolates sensitive to the known antibiotic? If yes, what does the cell tell us about the isolates and how might they relate to their antibiotic?

Extremely worried about this... 12 antibiotics in less than a year, they change the antibiotics class here and there, have had a chest infection for over a month and now a sinus infection and the sinus infection is not going away with the z pak... I'm constantly getting infections. Idk what to do anymore 😭😭😭 now I think I'll die if I'm resistant
