This is part 2 of the somatosensation lectures. In this lecture, I describe how pain and temperature information is sensed in the skin, including how noxious chemicals and sensed by the same receptors that process temperature. I discuss how pain information goes through the nervous system, and how that differs from touch. Last, we learn about ascending and descending regulation of pain.
