In this lecture, I describe how the brain hears sounds. I describe the morphology of the ear, including it's three basic parts. I describe in detail how the Organ of Corti converts sounds into information that the brain can understand. We also learn how auditory information gets into the brain. Last, I describe auditory processing, including the delay lines from the cochlear nucleus to the medial superior olive that allow us to localize where sounds are coming from.
