As gay men we may tend to stereotype straight men, as often times we don't have many or in-depth connections with them, but from reviewing YouTube videos on masculinity and also seeing them in my family I've learned there's more than meets the eye when it comes to straight men. They are filled with emotions and are quite diverse, but the patriarchy at times can force or limit them in their expression. Perhaps things will change in the future, as it seems now we are expanding and realizing no one "type" of person is a monolith (i.e. straight, gay, bi, Black, White, Latin, etc.).

Gay men tend to be defensive and on guard having lived in the closet for so long. It’s tough to build up trusting relationships if you’re used to being “under cover “ even within a more permissive environment.

A friend once had 2 cats, one was more intelligent and evolved he said; other was cupboard love only around for meals and affection, so a subset of felines lol.. actually I don't follow the dog-cat theory.. I take people as find them as individuals

I’m a straight man, I have one gay friend he is very out but not flamboyant, we ride Harley’s together actually. He is the most social outrovert I’ve ever known. He is friends with men and women equally I believe. He’s very open about his sexuality he can be flamboyant, I think mostly when he is flirting with guys, but with me we have very calm close long conversations it’s very nice, but he can flip the switch if he wants between the two. I would personally relate to how you described gay men. That’s just how I am, but for sure you are right about the vast majority of straight men are exactly like that, I’ll give you that. As for my friend he doesn’t fall into that cat category fully but he is not a dog that’s for sure. 😂

So I’m going to be blunt here. Thank you for demonstrating what most on this channel already know. It sucks being that guy who misses out on a guy. It’s amazing when you get that guy. The whole point is to communicate and get together. I’m married yet I still watch these chats….NOT BECAUSE i want a hook up but because i really want to get to know people…….Does that make us bad guys? Something to think about.

I think gay men are designed to be neutral. We have been subjected to so many negative mindsets that that we just survive based on our gay family. I’m more like you….a little more alone and trying to find myself
