In this video I'll show you how to set up a charcoal grill for smoking. Just because you don't have a dedicated smoker doesn't mean you can't BBQ with the best of them! Anything that can be smoked in a smoker can be smoked on a charcoal grill.

Hey Brother, i tried this method over the weekend and ended up with the best ribs I've ever made. Tender, moist, perfect. Thank you!

That's pretty clever with the thermometer placement- knowing the temperatures over the coals and over the area without coals. Good tip! Thanks!👍🏻

Brother for the 5 to 10 years that I've been on YouTube, I think I've commented on maybe 5 to 8 videos, and yours is one that I felt the need to comment on this really was a great video. I was over here trying to cook. Only chunks of wood like you were using, but no charcoal Briquettes whatsoever. That was a good tip. To use the foil pan of water. Thanks again honestly.

I've watched several videos on this topic and I think you had the clearest explanation. Also, you are the first person I've seen place a thermometer under the vent where it belongs.

I have the same grill, been meaning to get the hinged grates and add a thermometer. Going forward I will be speaking in your accent while grilling 🙃

One hack I use is to smoke for a couple hours then when the coals run out wrap and transfer to the slow cooker for about 8 more hours. Works well if you can't mind the grill all day.

Peace y'all. ✌

Thanks so much for doing these videos. I'm learning so much about charcoal grills from you. I switched from gas to charcoal because I live in Flordia now and if we hit hit by a hurricane I wanted a grill that didn't rely on gas or electric and I could store its source of fuel easily.

what other people need to realize, grilling just takes experience over the years and you have to really love grilling to turn out the best cooks each time,
after you get a lot of grill time, YOU then become one with whatever grill you re grilling with, at this point, you feel the heat zone differences , with each grill and when the grill lid is on, if you are experienced, then you can feel in your bones, the way the meat is cooking, hard to explain, but all will understand after you gain the experience,
thanks so much for your viedos

"Charco" lol I've watched many "how to" vids and this is as good as any on smoking with the Weber. He covers all the best tips: A temp gauge. Chunk wood instead of chips. A grate that has hinges. Other than fire-proof gloves, he covers it all. Great video.

Thank you! Straightforward and much appreciated. Especially about the location of the lid thermometer.
