In a remote mountain tribe, the young hunter, D’Leh (Steven Strait), has found his heart’s passion—the beautiful Evolet (Camilla Belle).

When a band of mysterious warlords raid his village and kidnap Evolet, D’Leh is forced to lead a small group of hunters to pursue the warlords to the end of the world to save her. Driven by destiny, the unlikely band of warriors must battle saber-tooth tigers and prehistoric predators and, at their heroic journey’s end, they uncover a Lost Civilization.

10, 000 BC looks good for me. No office job, no stress—just hard work with your family team to put food on the table.

"High Octane" in 10, 000 BC probably meant successfully not getting stomped into a pancake by dinner. 😂 Forget fast cars, these dudes were dodging furry tanks with pointy sticks! Mad respect.

I remember watching the teaser trailer for this film when it came out. The trailers were so good that people truly thought this was going to be a huge hit. The concept was brilliant but the execution was subpar.

This prehistoric action drama movie film "10, 000 BC" is based on a life of the Homo Sapiens (played by several Hollywood actors and actresses) during the culmination of the prehistoric era before the beginning of the early civilization, that is beginning in Mesopotamia.

Why the mammoths run like horses and not like pachyderms? Why are they blind? Why this movie was made?

The CGI for the mammoths and for all of the animals in this movie is top notch. I truly believe that if we were to go back in time to the ice age, the animals would look EXACTLY like how they did in this movie! With that being said though, there are two things that this movie got wrong in regards to the mammoths, and those two things are the social structure of the herd in this scene, and the mammoths galloping. In regards to what they got wrong with the social structure of the herd, common mammoth herds like the one in this scene were mostly female in real life, since the males(or bulls) leave the herd during their adolescent stage(roughly at around the age of 14) either to live on their own, or in smaller, more temporary herds with other bulls called bachelor herds, but I can tell by the mother mammoth and her calf in this scene, as well as the size of the herd in this scene, that this was meant to be a common herd and not a bachelor herd. After the bulls leave the herd, they only meet up with common female mammoth herds again once a year for mating. So, in real life common mammoth herds, as well as in common modern elephant herds, there is no such thing as a “lead bull”. Instead, there is a lead female known as the matriarch and it is her wisdom and experience that ensures the survival of the herd when the going gets tough. Now, in regards to the galloping, mammoths can’t gallop. In fact, they technically can’t even run. You see, any kind of running indicates that all feet lift off of the ground at once for at least a second. Humans run, dogs run, horses run, cats run and even rhinos run. However, elephants, including the mammoths which are in fact true elephants that belong to the true elephant family called Elephantidae(unlike the mastodons, which were their own species of proboscidean in the family Mammutidae), are incapable of running due to their massive size so they’re version of what we perceive as “running” is actually a really fast walking motion, but other than those two things, this movie really did a fantastic job at portraying the mammoths. The CGI for the mammoths was absolutely phenomenal! It was so good, in fact, that they reused the same CGI mammoth models from this movie for Game of Thrones(2011) and for the movie Alpha(2018). Sorry for the novel lol, I just really love elephants.

I doubt the mammoths were afraid of them, but we will never know.
