It is mind blowing the engineering that went into the -35B and the capabilities of the aircraft. It can hover, and go supersonic.

Great interview, I hope to get to see a B version F-35. It's the only version I haven't seen yet.

Was just up to MCAS Beaufort for the 2025 Airshow. Main reason for us heading up aside from the Blues was to see the F35B Demo. Unfortunately, traffic outside the base the day we went had another idea and we missed the demo. Got to see a very abbreviated demo STOVL landing at the end of the MAGTF demo as a consolation prize.
@43:16 Yes as an enthusiast of photographing military aircraft love when the vapors are flowing off the aircraft.

DUDE NO WAY! I WAS AT THAT KC AIRSHOW AND THE HEAT AND WEATHER DIDN'T ALLOW THE DEMO TEAM TO SO COOL!

Jello, I've been looking forward to this YT video ever since the podcast came out. The video clips really added to the story. At first I thought you had another reason to go to Oshkosh, until I realized they're performing in your back yard. Jealous!

I've seen the F-35B twice at MCAS Cherry Point, NC. They also had the Harrier and last year's show was the final Harrier demo. I can attest, the F-35B in hover is LOUD.

Fascinating! Learned a lot about the B model, its capabilities, and how the magic works that I had been wanting to know. Thanks, guys from an old A-4, A-6, Jarhead and Air National Guard F-4 driver. Absolutely intriguing. Semper Fidelis, Gents. LtCol Bear Owen (Ret).

I've just finished the book and it's a really engaging read. Jello is really good at telling us about the process, but also the human element. I hope there will be others.

I've never flown an F-35B, but my name is Craig too. That is all.

Terribly sorry to highjack this comment section but it's simply the only way I know how to get into contact with individuals within or with close affinity with the US armed forces. I am a worried European. I have great respect and gratitude for the US armed forces even though I didn't always agree with where and why you were fighting. With past wars like Afghanistan and Iraq I did not agree with the reasons why you were there, but I was able to place myself inside your reality and empathise with your personal reasons why you were there. But now he's talking about Greenland? Those are allied bases you would be bombing, people who will (and have in the past) bleed and die along side you. I refuse to believe that if push comes to shove that decision will be made, but I am scared man.

I thought USMC just cancelled large number of f-35 B orders.
