Its range is more than 1, 850 miles ferry range, with two external fuel tanks (reaching 1, 600 nautical miles).

The F-35A Lightning II has 43, 000 pounds of thrust and reaches Mach 1.6 for speed.

The F-35 engine consists of:

Three-stage fan

In the USAF Flight Surgeon Course, they told us about a spectacular heads up windscreen display that alerted F-15 pilots to multiple air-to-air and ground-to-air threats in real time. Pilots did not have to look down at instruments or displays. What did the pilots do? They turned it off. Too much information degraded their other critical cockpit tasks. I hope this “smart” helmet incorporates prior lessons learned. Having never flown in combat, aeronautical engineers sometimes design what they imagine will be most useful. Pilots are asked for input only at the end of the process. They feel pressured to praise gadgets favored by generals, bureaucrats, and politicians after bazillions of dollars have already been spent.
