There is a new version of this camera. It is called ILCE-7RM4A. You can easily tell if your recently purchased camera is the "A" version by looking at the rear screen. The word SONY at the bottom should no longer be there, Due to the pandemic Sony had to source a different rear screen assembly and this required a hardware revision. The firmware demonstrated here should NOT be used for this hardware model. Here is the new support page.

A small piece of advies, your battery must be charged otherwise it will give you an error saying you must charge before continuing. Thanks for the video

When I downloaded the firmware update, it only shows up as a letter file. I can't open it. ANY idea how to fix this? I've been researching this for an hour and I have nothing.
