Hello, I just upgraded my SONY HT-G700. The process was as follows: First, I used a Samsung USB drive, formatted to FAT32. Even after resetting the device, it kept displaying 'Invalid USB' and 'Not USB', and the upgrade couldn't proceed even when I forced it by clicking on upgrade. Then, I switched to a Kingston USB drive. After resetting the device, it still showed 'Invalid USB', but this time, when I manually clicked on upgrade, it started normally. After being at 0% for about 10 seconds, it suddenly changed to 'DONE', and then the device automatically restarted. I have now confirmed that it has been updated to the latest version 2.129.
Both of these USB drives were 32GB USB 3.0 flash drives.

Great video very helpful. If it doesn’t update (throws up an error when you try click update and start) then just factory reset it and try again.

For those with the no sound from the soundbar, I had the same problem. I managed to get around this by going to my tv setting menu and select external inputs and the link the appropriate HDMI connection with my sound-bar. The fact here is that your TV must recognise your soundbar and the HDMI cable point (i.e., HDMI3, HDMI4, e.t.c) then after assigning the correct HDMI port with your sound bar, you can fiddle with the option if you want, sound-bar to deliver 4K or Dolby Vision output from those HDMI connection. This too you need to fiddle with the TV menu, my TV is A80J OLED. So you can sense how annoyed was when things did not work clockwork when you have new systems. The problem with this sound bar is you need to crank up the volume and the subwoofer to have a decent sound. This is far from my 13 year old Onkyo amplifier, which I am intending to fix it. This sound-bar was suppose to replace that. However, if you see more Amazon-prime, Netflix and Disney + most of them offer 5.1 surround. So having an amplifier is still the best.

I wasn't able to update che soundbar, until i figured out that the problem was the USB Partition, i had to set GPT to MBR. Finally i done the update from 1.062 to 1.107! D:

Why must you reset the soundbar before the update? The Sony website only mentions it after the update.

have a Sony G700 soundbar and I have a Samsung qe55qn85c TV that supports Dolby atmos, but when I connect the Son soundbar to the TV, the Dolby atmos function is not available.
I don’t know what the problem is, should I update the sunbar too? I really want Dolby to work :(

I have questions that I want to ask again and again when I bought this htg 700. Will my tv lg oled c1 both sound at the same time? It has earc support. You said that you need to close an adjustment in the bidet, if you tell me how it closes, I would be happy. Finally, do you recommend sony ht s40 r dolby digital 600 w 5.1 or does htg 700 have arc support but no earc on it

Se la tua USB non viene riconosciuta, prova a cambiare la partizione USB da GPT a MBR. Ho avuto lo stesso problema, sembra che GPT (il nuovo modo di partizionamento) non sia supportato da Sony Soundbar.

Ovviamente anche a me una volta inserita continuava a dire USB NOT VALID...ma ho FORZATO l'aggiornamento ed è partito...
