Trek Range 2019 - Marlin 7

I have a dilemma. Should I go for the Marlin 7 which is the highest
level Marlin or, should I go for the Roscoe 6 which is £200 more.

I
do community via the canal and go on road also. I like to go into
woody areas up and downhill when I have the chance also. If I got the
Marlin 7, would I be missing out by not getting the roscoe 6. Would I
damage the bike if I had a Marlin 7 when going through woody, bumpy
areas? My fear is that by getting the Marlin 7 instead of getting the
roscoe 6 I will be missing out on the possibility of a much better bike.
Is £700 instead of £500 though really worth it for what I am wanting
to do?

Got one. Very heavy at 32 lbs. BB is creaky, need to take it back to have it looked at

I just dropped more money on this very bike than on all other sports equipment throughout my entire life and now I learn here that its absolute entry level and maybe good enough to ride around town? 😵

I am getting it for school and my dad will use it when he worka on cycle paths to test em out but nothing else is that good because I live close to a place where they steal bikes
