Tory backbenchers fuming as ministers deny economic turmoil

A growing number of backbench Tory MPs are expressing their anger at the mini-budget and the government's failure to do anything about the negative market reaction.

Senior Tories Rishi Sunak, Sajid Javid, David Davis and Mel Stride have all told Sky News that they will not be attending the annual Conservative Party conference, which is due to start this weekend in Birmingham.

Rishi was too brown for the voting members. The media said Rishi was in kuku land. People were more interested in mocking his suit and shoe choices rather than listening to his sound fiscal plan. Reese Mogg and Dorries were cocky and belittling having had no experience themselves in major front bench positions. The way the torries are gojng about their business sickens me and thats coming from a life long blue voter.

I was no fan of Rishi Sunak at all, but compared to Truss, he at least had economic sense and knew that Truss's plans were going to be disastrous. Sadly, he's being proven right.

We all knew this was going to happen, except the Tories. I wonder what their reasoning was for not choosing Sunak. Liz Truss herself had a very low approval rating among the British Public prior to the election, Sunak's was even higher.
