So many people don't know Celtic Frost, they were called Hellhammer back in 1982 and had a more extreme sound than Venom and Metallica at the time, they're also responsible for being a huge influence for death metal and black metal.

Celtic Frost later changed its name to Triptykon, its really astonishing to see how many people don't know Celtic Frost but listen to extreme metal.

All drama aside, "Morbid Tales" is one of the most heaviest pioneering metal albums ever. Check out, "Procreation of the Wicked". But yes, the Metallica cover was horrible, very horrible.

Funny, I got verbal permission from Tom himself to put a Frost cover (The Usurper) on a demo I was doing. He heard and basically said "sure, go for it". Great moment.

Growing up in the 80's was such a brilliant time to be a metalhead. Celtic Frost were the pioneers of Black and Avant Garde metal. Check out their live 2007 Wacken show. Thats a fu**king band.
