I honestly wonder if the band themselves had anything to do with it? Not defending it, but it could still be management acting under their noses

I've read a few articles about this, Metallica said they were unaware of this. I don't believe the band itself would do this. They love their fans. It could be managment. Please, no hate. It's just what I believe.

I seen them on this tour and I got my tickets on the fan club site no problem. I bought a special package that gave me a gift bag with a specialized poster a jewelry necklace and bottle opener with nice pin and a tour t-shirt with a new CD of the latest album and a pass to go into the Sanitarium room and play Metallicas instruments before the show with a nice dinner included with 2 alcoholic drinks for around 325 bucks. And we got early entrance to the venue and could go anywhere on the floor. I think it was money well spent. Great show and good time

Seriously, the gov't feels they need to have their hands in regulating everything? Let the free market play out. If the tickets are too much, people won't pay and won't go. It's supply and demand. If the demand for metallica isn't that high, people won't buy. If they can warrant a $500 ticket what's it matter where it comes from?
