1- Because better options out there for ACC expansion
2- None of the teams want extra money
3- Not expanding has been a successful strategy used by the PAC and B12
4- The B12 would absolutely be able to merge with the ACC to 30 teams

Stanford, Cal, and SMU don’t bring any value to the ACC. Thus, the ACC should not add them. Stanford goes independent before thinking about big 12 or any G5 conference.

Stanford has a 38Billion endowment it's more than sustainable to go independent. It won't be permanent as they will eventually be in the B10 once the ACC inevitable implosion & the B10 goes to 24. The final implosion ND is going to join the B10 B/c the B10 & SEC that will be running the show with 20 +teams each aren't going to let Nd get their free ride despite shit results in every BCS and CFP game the last 20 years. ND preys on weak conferences like Big East & now the ACC to get sweetheart deals to house their non fball sports. These weak conferences agree to a required number of fball games scheduled with their members b/c they are desperate.

ACC has to try to appease FSU, Clemson, Miami, etc.. b/c the conference will implode if they all band together & announce they are leaving. Every ACC school has been in contact with the B10 & SEC & know if they have an offer or not. FSU & Clemson are vocal, there are others that want out & just don't want to be viewed as the catalyst(bad guy) that caused the implosion. Once it starts the quiet schools are gone as they have been talking on the down low. They will gladly take the 30 or 40 M more the B10 & SEC get in a second & all their high minded & unity talk will be shown to be BS. They already have their life boat options sorted. The schools that actually want to keep it together are Wake, NCST, BC, Syracuse etc...as they will be the left out ones like the P12 current 4 & will be courting the B12 at best . UNC, VA, VTech, GTech, Clemson, FSU, Miami already have their exit options planned on whether they have an offer from B10, SEC or both.
