Get a job further away and then you “have” to move

I understand the girls problem. Even though I’m a guy I came from similar background. Basically all our Asians can relate to this. I wish her all the best!

I literally am like her. My family is exactly like her. I’m exactly her age. This hit me so deep. Literally everything she said is my life. It’s easier said and done. Culture plays a huge part in your life mentally. I hope i gain enough strength as her.

I was the first to move out on my own (without getting married) as well. Just do it. They’ll come around.

My little sister and I moved out when I was 24 and she was 21! It has been two years and we don’t regret it. Everyone in my family would mention how we “girls” lived alone. But my grandmother defended us and was actually proud of us. We are independent and trust me when I say everyone will stop mentioning it after the first year if you can convince your parents!

As an almost 25-year-old African woman (who still lives with her parents because she’s broke, but who will move out as soon as she can), I will say this: it’s better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.
You do you, sis. We are rooting for you.

Take care miss . Alot of girls in her position have been killed for going outside of the " norm ". Unfortunately the individuals in her culture especially the men cannot tolerate their females being independent and away from them.
They call it " dishonouring and tainting the family lineage ".
Sad but true !

Im a 22 year old guy from India. Every place in the world exept the west is family oriented. I cant move out even if I marry a girl because im the only male child in the family and have to take care of my parents as my sister will be married off to her future husbands home. I see this as an opportunity to take good care of my parents. I have no regrets, im grateful😁😍

Respect culture depending on where you are, in America move out, in Afghanistan you stay home with parents, things have changed, time too, just go on and be the first.she seems cool, so she knows what's right for her.

Africans are the same, and this happened to me, I chose the culture over my own life. Now I have so many regrets 😔

My mom is from Nigeria and her culture also believes that u should stay at home until you are married. That’s what my mom did but now that we live in America, she’s doesn’t mind my siblings and I moving out and getting a place of our own..

I was the first in every aspect of my life, but in essence I learnt a lot during this episode, I’m loved wherever I go, I’m a singer and went to a kareoke evening in amsterdam, the pub was packed, they all took one look at me and thought I couldn’t sing, when I began to sing the whole pub went into uproar, so you see you should never judge the book by the cover, my voice is sensational, it has and alway will be my gift, xx

I feel her, here in the middle east girls and boys don't live on their own once they're independent and having their own jobs. It's unfortunate even if siblings or friends want to live together what's the harm in that. It's true what she said, let us have our own adventure and make our decisions before settling down and getting married. I agree with her🖒
