How to accept compliments (without feeling awkward)

It's #WorldComplimentDay ! Many of us know how to GIVE compliments but what about how to RECEIVE them?

I’ve done this my entire life, I’ve never known what to say when people compliment me because I’ve always heard the bad about me . I just shut down and toss it out like you said.

If you take in a compliment in other places (e.g. Japan, Korea) it’s usually a sign of snobbery and selfishness - so I’m taking this with a grain of salt, Vinh.

Nah, I think I'll continue throwing compliments away. This way my life will seemingly be full of either negative statements or neutral statements. No happiness allowed
