Yet another excellent video about someone whom I have always wanted to know more about for a very long time. Elizabeth of Bohemia was a woman of grace, level-headedness, and endurance, despite her very turbulent life.

I think she is an example of one of those who have an interesting life but are overlooked.❤️

Good eveningvJon! I wish teachers were like you! I would have loved History classes if they were! If I may ask, do you do your own scripting for these episodes? As excellent and informative as they are, you must!

Only a few commonly held misapprehensions ... It is highly likely that Elizabeth met her brother Henry for the first time when they travelled to London in 1603. Frederick and Elizabeth never sought to regai the throne of Bohemia, but instead his seat as Elector Palatine, a very powerful position. She had 13 children. It's a pity you missed her deep engagement with the 30 years war and the dedication of her supporters, her use of cipher codes, the period in the early 1620s when she was, for many, the preferred heir to James, and that she never dropped the title 'Queen of Bohemia' because to do so would be to grant Ferdinand's actions deposing her and Frederick by force retrospective validity ... oh, and she was known for spearing boar from horseback when heavily pregnant! Elizabeth was known as the Queen of Hearts by her friends - it's the title of her recent biography by Nadine Akkerman, who has also edited her correspondence, so she knows a thing or two!

Another great video. I always learn something new including that Latin makes girls more cunning! 😂

James obviously held no hatred for the queen whom had his own mother put to death! His daughter certainly bares a remarkable resemblance, in her youth, to the previous Elizabeth, though imo, not coincidentally! ❤

I’ve always thought Anne of Denmark was right when she thought Frederick of The Palatinate was a poor match for Elizabeth. She could have done so much better.
