This could have been/used to be a blog post:

“Yo guys, love to see you’re still playing the game. We have uploaded a small update that allows you to change a couple of sound effects which will make the game feel more classic. It’s enabled the same way you can change the hitmarker sound in your audio settings. Enjoy!”

Classic audio is much better than actual game audio I wish it changed the announcers tho

ok for starters the gun sounds are actually horrible but the biggest nuisance here is them not adding the sound effect whenever someone calls in a streak/disarms/plants/gets a triple or multi kill.. the little window shows up in this cod but it makes no noise and i think they should add that noise in from MW2 oh and the lobby join/leave sound too

Would have been the best opportunity to give us the OG MP5 full-circle front sight as the blueprint at the very least rather than that half-circle one we have.

I wish we heard the FJX Imperium, don't get me wrong they should've originally made it sound like the OG Intervention but if the "Throwback Audio Pack" had the FJX go back to sounding like the OG Intervention, I'd love that.

The classic MW2 kill streak sfx really shows up the MWII sfx cause MW2 had unique audio for each streak.

What's sad is that most of us won't be hearing the MGB/tactical nuke audio more than once given the current matchmaking system. Haven't even witnessed another teammate nor enemy get an MGB in all honesty.

yes the MTX are getting crazy, but its a little cool because i didn't know it would change the announcer/bomb plant sounds/ and semtex, i thought it was only the mp5 and Hemmy

Best part in the pack is being able to use the eotech sight with a blue dot rather than the massive red half circle

Random comparison but Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has an option in the settings to make the dialog have the classic mumble instead of the characters actually speaking since fans wanted the nostalgic feel. Literally just an option in the game for free and for everybody.

Something like this is fan service. Fan service being locked behind a paywall is incredibly ironic. Whoever makes these decisions at these greedy game studios have zero self awareness.

Really hope they work more on the bundle, since the whole selling point is throwback audio, they need to really get everything done to perfection. Since everything, besides the gun sounds at the very least, should've been a setting to be enabled, they need to full send on the idea. It's cheap what they did with the guns, especially using the APC556 for ANOTHER MW2 inspired bundle, and haven't attempted to make the MP5 look like the MP5K by default, so they really need to adjust what sounds get changed in this bundle. Which should be EVERY gun sound, not just firing, and maybe the announcer. Hopefully they really do get this fixed, since if it's gonna be locked behind a paywall, they better make it sure as hell worth it.

Should’ve kept the MGB as a NUKE, don’t know why they constantly change it. Would’ve made it even better to hear ENEMY NUKE INCOMING!!!

Not to defend them but apparently the original audio was too compressed in the files to simply port over so they had to recreate the sounds as close as they could.



Obviously they failed with the gun sounds but everything else is good. They also could’ve at least change the announcers to the og announcers cuz these new ones sound like they just hate their job
