I never knew of the film’s existence until my uncle and aunt came to visit after seeing it and brought along the souvenir program book. I flipped through the pages with intense fascination and made plans to see it. It was the perfect flip side to Star Wars, Close Encounters, and Superman. This trailer captures the film’s atmosphere of dread.

Funny, I just watched it again last night.

This makes it look like a B grade, Roger Corman flick. Little did anyone know at the time what Ridley Scott and Brandywine were producing. I love this stuff. The teasers were better than the full trailers.

I remember going to see this with a friend when it first came out. scary! Didn't it have an advertising catchphrase of something along the lines of "in space no one can hear you fart"?

My parents didn’t take me because I’d imagine not only was it an R rating, but they had me and my brother to raise and a payment on a house they bought for $35, 000. For those buying a house right now, let that sink in.

Fox clearly didn't know what they had and it doesn't seem like they really cared... All they wanted was another Sci-fi flick to ride off the success they had with Star Wars. Ridley Scott really transcended any kind of B-movie trappings the film could have had based off this trailer.
