Bear you said you were doing this a few days ago and once again how you got all this info together in an understandable way is amazing. Be careful you could strain your brain if you keep this up!

Had to Warranty my Ridgid impact after two years of having it. Trigger switch broke. Brought it to home depot paid $32 fee and 12 days later I got a call ready to pick up, it was covered under LSA and I'll get my $32 back. Pretty happy with that.

People always over hype tool truck warranties. Since the trucks are franchised, I’ve figured out that it basically depends on if the tool dealer likes you or not. For example, if you got the tool as a gift from a family member, and it breaks within the warranty period, and you take it to the truck dealer, they tell you to F off because you didn’t buy it from them. Even though they technically can’t do that, it’s a franchise situation, so complaining to corporate won’t really do anything.

As Tommy Callahan the 3rd said, "Tommy Callahan III: If you want me to take a dump in a box, and mark it guaranteed I will... I've got spare time".

It seems like some of the companies watched that scene.

Bear FYI the Ridgid LSA is 90 days to register not 30, at least according to the paperwork I got and it says it on my boxes they came in, but I would caution register quickly, their website to register has a lot of technical issues I have found and I have had to contact support to get tools registered.

Just finished warrantying my milwaukee impact driver at an authorized service center. Waited 5 months because they were waiting on parts from milwaukee... finally called to complain and they got with milwaukee and got me a new one. Finally. It was bought new, unboxed on ebay, BTW. Will try sending it straight to milwaukee next time.

As usual, solid and worthwhile content. Your info on batteries chemistry vs cell size has my mind blown. Do you plan on making a video or two, breaking it down and comparing the different brands’ battery offerings? I know this subject had the bear growling, but it’s a really interesting subject that has opened my eyes to info I just took at face value.

I make digital copies of important receipts and flatten the box and put it in the crawl space. Sometimes tape the original receipts to box and write in sharpie the expiry date.

I guess I dotted my I's n' crossed my t's but I love my orange rigid. I've been happy with my lifetime "service agreement", replaced battery and charger 8yrs later no questions asked when called national service center.

Hey! Great sponsor today! I have Next insurance! It's called Handyman insurance. The city I work in requires it. And up to just a few months ago, they didn't cover tools. Now they do and I love it! VERY inexpensive.

My experience has been, if it works out of the box, it works longer than warrenty.

I had to warranty a Kobalt tool and while it eventually got taken care of, it was not a pleasant ordeal and took me two different trips to Lowe's because nobody at the stores knows how to handle the warranty.

I don't know why you downplayed the Harbor Freight extended warranty! Maybe it's only my local Harbor freights but I've asked specifically about the poulan chainsaw and the Atlas 80 volt chainsaw and getting the extended warranty I asked if it's a replacement plan and they said yes! So basically I can come in on the last day of the extended warranty. And trade it in for a new one no questions asked! I've confirmed this with two managers at my two local Harbor freights I don't think any other manufacturer/retailer has anything close to this.

I build houses for a living and Dewalt was great on my first return. I told them my battery roofing nailer went bad after a few months and they sent me a brand new one no questions asked. Then after that my electric hand planer blew up on the VERY first use and almost cut off my finger, the blade caught the edge of the opening because the factory didn't inset the blades properly and they refused to stand by their warranty. Then last week my most expensive battery from them, a Flexvolt 9AH battery went bad after 6 uses and they AGAIN REFUSED to replace it and said they could not since the product was "discontinued." Dewalt is now a joke. They say they have a good warranty but they don't. I feel like this should be a class action lawsuit against them.
