I’m convinced they take a loss on some tools to get you to buy batteries.

Never had a problem with my 'makita' products. Years of abuse and still great.. never underperformed for me.👍

All my cordless tools are Makita. I have never had a problem with them. I will continue to buy them.

I agree. . .I got Milwaukee "just because" years ago. Not I have a 10+ batteries, M18s, M12s, like 10 chargers, blower, trimmer, you name it. I cant just restart with a new battery line! That would be sick

As a home owner and occasional electrician my M12 has everything I need for cordless jobs...most other stuff I just go with corded models since they are way cheaper for equivalent quality compared to top of the line cordless versions.

I'm picking up that track saw this weekend. If you buy the bare tool you get a 6HO battery for free.

OMG so right! I have 20 tools bright yellow and it is because 20 years ago i bought a cheap intro tool drill. You nailed it my friend.

Most people buy whats on sale at the time and that starts their collection. Mine happened to be dewalt and I only buy batteries on sale. Dewalt also has warrantied 5 year old 4ah batteries for 0 cost. They’re customer service was reasonable to deal with and came back to me in a days time. But I rigid is really nice with the lifetime battery warranty.

I have batteries and chargers for all the platforms I'm interested in, so when I buy a tool, I look for what fits my needs best. And I'm not afraid to get into a new platform if necessary!

The thing is the actual cells in the battery’s aren’t really that expensive there’s prolly a 300 percent mark up compared to the cost of manufacturing the batteries. And they get the cells super cheap in bulk. It’s kinda scammy but that is life

The battery may be the most expensive for the consumer, but, it's one of the most profitable for the manufacturers

I guess that's how I ended up with dewalt. They had that 89$ drill special at Christmas time. It was a shitty drill too. Still working 8 years later but I can smell the brushes burning.

But they know that I don't want to have a bunch of different types of battery and chargers. At this point, if I need a milwaukee tool, I'll get a dewalt battery adapter so I can use the milwaukee tool with the batteries I already own.

It helps them that the Mac tools truck rolls up every week and is heavily loaded with Dewalt tools 😅 convenience really does sell

Dewalt and milwaukee to the max with the old heads at my job.

This is true. I got the Harbor Freight Bauer impact driver with a small battery. Upgraded to the large battery and have been getting other low cost tool only gadgets. As a home DYI'er and shade tree mechanic, these tools do the job. One project I do myself can easily pay for the tools. They are not built for professionals who use them daily for a living, but they work well for me.

That’s what happened to me with makita, got into thier system and now I have a whole box full of batteries, makita works for me tho

I agree. I bought Milwaukee because my grandpa has Dewalt and Makita and I didn’t want our tools getting mixed up. Now I’ve got to much skin in the game to jump ship now. I also feel that they make the batteries just different enough not to work in other tools even if they are made by the same company like Milwaukee and Ryobi.

I remember the first tool I ever bought didn’t come with a battery and I thought it was the dumbest thing ever, but I was really the idiot, especially since I was buying a dewalt 😅

I became loyal to Milwaukee when I was 14 and my mom bought me a Milwaukee 12v hi torque drill from a garage sale back in 2001. Got hooked ever since. It was red in a shiny red metal case.
