You goobers need to understand that he's in Seattle. You can't fetch the same prices everywhere. I live in East Tennessee, so I can only get about half of what he gets. Cost of living is also half. It's all relative.

You guys need to understand that the 1600 job he is talking about is a full restoration. The reason the price sounds so high is because that kind of work requires days of labors to get the room looking new again. Do you except the crew to make 5 dollars an hour ? Or expect the company to not have any overhead expense. The price sounds accurate. You could save money and do it yourself but it most likely will only look half as good and will take you triple the time.

Homewyse is $258 -$625 for labor only walls/ceiling/trim and doors (2 coats). 10' x 12'. Roughly $36 -$89 per hour. 🥴 I guess it really depends on geography.

No, he didn't say $1600 for "painting". He said $1600 for room prep, trim repair, scraping, repairing cracks, filling holes, and then finally "painting" including the walls, ceiling and trim. Then there's the cleanup, removal of all the blue masking tape, washing the brushes etc. I would hate to be in his business dealing with cheap customers. I'm not a painter, I'm just looking now to see if the estimates I got are in line with his pricing and they are. And for $1600 I'd rather leave it to a pro than pretend I could do it all myself.

My man! Actually gave a number To reference for those who don't know, or are just starting , which no one ever does. Your Pricing is accurate . shit, just masking film tape and paper for the 3m machine for a job can cost $100-200 easy. Not counting anything else. Thank you buddy!!

My whole downstairs has adjoining walls. Iinin a townhouse 1010 aquare feet. I have a couple of stress cracks on 2 walls and couple of dings. I think one coat would be fine with the same color. Curious of the price...but sounds like I might have to fix the cracks and touch up the paint myself.

im a professional painter from the North East Massachusetts and a room 12×10 painting Ceilings, walls and trim with materials depending on what type of paint the customer wants (some lines of paints per gallon can run u $70 per gallon) so i would charge $550 for a 12×10 with paint cost at around $100.
now factor in crown molding Etc. it can get pricey depending on what the home owner wants!

It is difficult to get those prices in upstate NY. I'm lucky if I get the first price for walls/ceiling/trim.
