And moreover, note that any such advanced knowledge in any such older text would not really prove any "supernatural" origin of those books. It would only prove the existence of superhuman knowledge earlier than humankind's scope of knowledge at the time. Occam's Razor-wise, an extraterrestrial (or terrestrial but hidden) advanced civilization would still be a more reasonable explanation for the presence of such knowledge in old books, rather than any supernatural omniscient being(s) authoring the books.

The religious will always find a way to explain the bad things in their holy books.

He’s not wrong. The books are not evidence based, they seem to just make claims and go off what is observable. But in no way has any of these books shown authorship of god, just someone saying I know god told me this.

He's very wrong on this; suppose for example a version of E=mc^2 was in there.

We went through a substantial period of time where Aether was the wisdom of the day & the secrets of relativity being in there would have actually impeded our development. Because an Aether scientist would have said "but we know aether to be true, so the book must be false".

The fact Jesus actually makes no scientific claims while the Quran does, is actually quite telling to which one understood the greater trends of time. Notably that we're constantly disproving and adapting our best hypotheses.

You realize that there is literally an open challenge in the Quran to do exactly that, people have literally failed for 1400 + years people who I can assure you had better understandings of linguistics then you will ever begin to fathom have failed.

Cute, yes any 1 page could easily be written in a similar fashion. 1 page, 1 author. Try over the span of millennium, 66 books from 40 authors with only a couple having any education, especially literary or philosophical, fulfilling and predicting prophecies with extreme accuracy, the most obvious of which being that the Messiah would essentially come from a named tiny and insignificant place, and his name would be on the lips of Kings world wide... That alone is insane, not to mention the approx 300 others that Jesus alone fulfilled. If that doesn't point to supreme or super natural knowledge at least I don't know what could. And generally the arguments against these clear fulfillments of specific and time locked prophecies is that it had to have been written later, simply because it's not possible. It's odd really, as if people like sam have never heard the term "circular logic". "It couldn't have happened that way, because it's impossible, therefore it couldn't have happened that way"is not an argument.

Exactly what I think.As human knowledge expand,
we should have wonder how can A BOOK, Quran or Bible, can explain the complexity of everything.
Half of of what is in the Quran and Bible look more like story- telling.
Pity it's very difficult for them to move out of these closed religions

Sapolsky made a lecture on the origin of religion coming from shamanism and mental disorder. It's on the stanford lecture series.
Aside of this, whoever wrote the bible essentially was beneficial to humanity not to slaughter one another back then, so I would say society exist today is partially to do with the book. On the other hand it could be wrote by some dunk cats had nothing better to do, but it kinda irrelevant who wrote it and why.
