I agree i always failed with girls because i had low self esteem. I would always self sabotage by rejecting girls that asked me out because I always felt I was unworthy of dating them.

The sad truth is that Physical appearance is important. As a short man with a small frame, I have been rejected many times because of this. Also, the fact that I'm 49 doesn't help. Plus I have been told that my : Hair, eye color combination is a turn off, being a Gemini, being too intense, not intense enough, Being christian, but not having a good enough understanding of Jesus.. The list goes on. Truth is I'm just unattractive in every was imaginable. Hopefully I'll be hot in my next life.

Every body has a check list. In no particular order it's along the lines of Pretty, hot body, breasts, butt, legs, hair color, eye color, height/weight, smile, well groomed/put together, and some others for attractiveness. We want as many of those that we find desirable within one person. Then there are the personality/intellectual qualities - smart, funny, nice, adventurous, witty, charming, charismatic, sexy, flirty/shy, easy going, wise etc. Add in the financial components of rich, stable, good job, none to little debt, thrifty but not cheap, self sufficient, practical, etc., and it makes for a pretty long check list. Nobody has it all, but we want as many on our individual list as possible. Men will overlook a lot of other things if she is hot, women will overlook a lot of other things if he is wealthy. It is what it is.

I believe looks is one reason I'm single. Obviously if I was Brad Pitt I wouldn't be single. It's also partially because of my income. I'm not particularly out going with attractive women. And because of hypergamy, I never get an acceptable offer.

Looks, well that one's a given. My face, I can shave it. But I'm not a head turner, and belive me, women will have no problem telling you that without hesitation.

Good video. Having a good or desirable appearance increases our odds to meet someone but all the other things, like personality, having chemistry, things is common, etc, will be a bigger determining factor if you will actually be a match with someone. You can have the six pack abs, the expensive car, the six figure salary and you may have less problems meeting someone, but you might not meet someone of substance if looks is the only qualifier. There are people who only care about the physical and if that's there schtick then so be it. Me, I need someone that I can carry on a meaningful conservation at times and other times talk about completely nonsense. We all get old and looks fade. Wish I was more confident because I have been attracted to women that others do not think are at all, but they are amazing. Let those chances go by due to my own insecurities.

Well I have seen a guy who is pretty much my height, five foot 5 inches tall with an above average looking wife. They were both farely young too. The thing is that he is a muscular and I'm not and I have social anxiety which is a BIG problem.
