Thank you for demonstrating the scratch turning bright red. I can’t tell you how many times people have asked me “what is wrong with your chest/neck?!” After I had a little itch.

I’ve never been able to relate to anyone with bright red embarrassment flushing! Wow it sucks in the teenage years, but it does get a lot a lot better. I’m 30 and I feel like I can sometimes control it when I feel it coming on. I couldn’t control it recently and a man legit called me out for it. Probably got a rise thinking I was blushing for him, but I was beat red because he was hitting on me in such an awkward disrespectful way. Ugh the struggles of this! Stay strong you guys 💕 we don’t need anyone other’s validation than our own 💕

"Are you okay?!" - question I've been asked more than any other in my life, whenever I get flushed from drinking/embarrassment/slight exertion/LITERALLY ANYTHING or those red scratch marks. I wish there was more awareness about this because I definitely faced borderline bullying all through school because of it, and even now, among my adult acquaintances, I get some pretty alienating responses when I flush. Bane of my existence T _ T

As someone who was just diagnosed with Diabetes type 2 (diet of too much starch, carbs, and red meat, and too little greens and fruits), and already suffer from several skin conditions which are found to be linked with diabetes, I now also have developed Rosacea type 1, 2, and Ocular as no one told me Rosacea is also an eye disease. Pre Rosacea I never had any issues besides sensitivity, and later Fungal Acne due to destroying the skin barrier as I got into skincare, and used too much too soon, actives and chemical exfoliants, and didn't stop in time. Rosacea is now also found to have a direct link with the gut, as those with Rosacea also tends to have food intolerance and food allergies, my self included. Rosacea is an inflammatory skin disease, so your diet or what you eat is super important, as so many foods are triggers for flareups. And both Rosacea and fungal acne is also linked to vitamin D deficiency which I also happen to suffer from, like the dots starts to connect. Also due to mental stress (depression and anxiety) this also effects everything. So the body and mind are all connected. Heal your gut, and heal your mind, and you may possibly lessen the symptoms and flare up management. And pre Rosacea I never used sunscreen since childhood, and I tanned dark as in my profile picture, but now I wear sunscreen SPF 50 every day, and seldom go out in the sun.

As a fellow dermatographia sufferer, of the full welt variety, I feel all of this! I've been looking for more products to address the flushing and itching in my face, so this was very helpful!

Cassandra: a product that helps with my facial redness (rosacea) quite a bit is Niod's Modulating Glucosides. It's a creamy, hydrating serum I apply right after my water-based products twice a day. I think the stuff may actually be magical in nature.

You are so awesome! The azelaic acid serum worked so well … and honestly took me by surprise. I didn’t expect it to work so quickly and my face wasn’t exactly cleansed either but I happened to see a nearby Sephora and like after dabbing a bit on a reddish part on my face ..I came back to check the results… and it was literally less red. I’m definitely going to try the products you recommend - thank you!

Thanks for such an informative video, especially as an eczema sufferer. I got a lot of redness after being prescribed roaccutane and it lasted after having finished the treatment cycle. The Inkey List's Glucoside serum and Jumiso's Cica and Aloe essence toner are two of my go-to products to manage it every day.

Omg I wonder if I have that second thing you talked about, my face is always getting super red and HOT and for literally no reason. I've been wondering if it's rosacea but this sounds more like whatever it is I have. All I do know is that cica and mugwart has significantly reduced how often I flush and im so glad 😭

How can a 155 dollar sunscreen ever be worth it?

Love my dermatographia. My dad would write letters on my back. Once I had an attending try to physically remove me from the ICU and he decided to call security and the hospital director… well I had a beautiful red hand print on my arm that got him in trouble 🙊

So happy I have found your channel. Your videos these last few months have become my new therapy and it has made me become so much more invested in skincare and my own skin and how to better to improve. Along with when to splurge or save.

I should change my middle name to Red 😅 I must appreciate that finally a video where rosacea triggers is not mentioned exercise. Because despite it can temporarily make rosacea flush more, it can lead to people assuming it is something to avoid. There has been too many derm videos about rosacea blaming exercise which is just doing more harm than good.
Edit: Dermatica has a 20% azelaic acid OTC, available in the UK. It’s fab and really helps.
