Ingredients:

Oil, for sautéing
3 Tbsp. Butter
250g. Ground Pork
250g. Ground Beef
3 Tbsp. Flour
Salt to taste

5 cloves Garlic, minced
1 cup Onion, minced
1/2 cup Carrots
1/2 cup Celery
1/2 cup Red Bell Peppers
1 tsp. Dried Oregano
1 tsp. Dried Basil
3 pcs. Laurel leaves
1 tsp. Chili flakes
1/4 cup Tomato paste
2 Tbsp. Sugar
4 Tbsp Maggi Savor
3 cans/4 cups Canned tomato
2 cups Chicken stock
Fish sauce and Black pepper to taste

To serve:
Spaghetti pasta
Olive oil
Parmesan cheese
Chopped fresh parsley

I noticed this technique in all my grandmother's dishes browning the meat first. So this recipe is the closest I remember eating in the olden days.

I’m gonna do this soon! this is the spaghetti recipe I grew up with! My tita used to mixed in the same veggies (carrots, capsicums & celery) in her spaghetti as it gives flavour and nutrition. Thanks, chef for sharing this!

I do love Filipino spaghetti but when I make my sauce I usually do it that way almost exactly the same way except maybe for the flour. I'll probably use that technique more when Searing ground meat

We use almost the same recipe for spaghetti but I add mine Sriracha sauce for little kick and added flavor. It's taste so goood! I'll try adding celery next time, didn't know its possible. Gosh I'm craving now 😭

Thank you, Chef Tatung. BTW, my best pasta dish that I remember is trying farfalle with parmegiano reggiano sprinkled. Most memorable for the taste and shape of the pasta, I was about 4 or 5 years old then.
