The perfect pocket4k travel rig and of course the footy is beautiful!

This is really all you need. Mine is similar, but I've placed my NPF inside of a cage made out of a light socket holder and milled openings for cables and glued magnets to the T5 SSD. It attaches to a magnet with a 1/4-20 screw on the right side of a half rig or placed the handle. The 4K is much better for handheld than the Original, which is why mine now reside inside studio rigs full-time. This is very atmospheric and dreamy footage of Downtown Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

Yours is one of my favorite YouTube channels, brother! I'm blown away by your magical footage. I have a Sigma18-35mm myself that I recently received, and I love it. Michigander/Detroiter here, by the way. Thanks for sharing your passion with us, my friend, and my best to you and your family. Carlos

I really liked the moments around 1:48 where a little bit of time is given to a subtle sound (which sounds like wind, waves, mist, etc.)😃 I didn't know this camera could be so compact...the tips about SD vs. cable management and using an NP battery were really helpful (and the others were too)!

Hi Spencer, loved your sequence, great footage. This video is exactly what I was looking for. I am getting my pocket 4k next monday and I was really nervous of how crazy expensive can it get to have a rigg on this camera, this vid shows that with a minimalist rigg like yours you can shoot beautiful images. Keep up the good work.

Good advice, great footage. I've been debating the 18-35 and I'm glad to see the low distortion when zoomed out, and you mentioned it was constant aperture which is nice, not even something I considered
Another good way to cut down on camera profile that I rarely see brought up is using a V-plate that clips on to a belt or bag with a cable running from it to the camera. If you're using a neck strap and the battery is in your backpack, the power cable can be held to the strap with hair clips for a near invisible power source. cheers

The Tilta Clip On Matt Box would be also nice and compact. By the way GREAT CONTENT YOU HAVE FILMED THERE with the BMPCC4K . FANTASTIC. You really know what you are doing!

The footage was excellent and I would have guessed this was shot with vintage lens, not a sharp Sigma Art lens. Once you start down-sizing your Pocket 4K you appreciate what a powerful tool this can be. I’m psyched to mod the screen and record to a hidden M.2 drive.

Great video. What was the last thing you said you used on your ur lens for motion blur?

Amazing! I love the look of this video. One question: how do you stabilize this camera when you're not using slow motion? Using this simple rig.

By the way, using this battery adapter is perfect, instead of buying a v-mount battery.

I've always been so tempted to buy the BMPCC4K but I'm so fearful about the focus. I'd really appreciate your insight about this.

Great video dude! What are some travel camera bags that would hold this setup?

Hi,

Glad I found your video! Going to be using the Sony NP-F battery plate by smallrig on my pocket 4K also... I've managed to balance it on my Ronin with full usability 🙂

You don't even need the cage, if you run CFast. CF can record in BRAW Q0 and 3:1 no issue. For nighttime and shallow DoF you can't beat the Sigma but for daytime, handheld or deep focus, try the Olympus 12-100 f4 IS. The IS is incredible, much better than any IBIS in any system existing rn. Those two zooms would be the ultimate wombo combo. It would be really awesome if someone could make plate like battery so you just attach it under your camera, so it's even more compact.

Seeing your footage makes me want to get back into Black Magic :(

Hey just came across your video, good stuff. How important do you think a matte box is travel video shooting?
