Bilstein 5100s:

Bilstein Ride Height Adjustable Shock Absorber B8 5100 (make sure it fits)

Hey all, I just got done having Bilstein 5100s installed on the front of my Tundra utilizing the top clip for maximum lift, and wow, what a difference. The vehicle handles and rides better plus the lift to the front rake looks amazing. I hope you find this informative and if you do please Subscribe and hit the thumbs up button. Thanks.

I ended up getting the 5100s installed in my 2008 Tundra and I freaking love the ride! It leveled the front perfectly and it looks so much better. Glad I came across your video.

This is something of a warning. On the Tundra 2002, extra cab, 4x4, v8. the Bilstines only work on the 3rd ring, only giving a 1.1" lift. (New Bilstines have 5 rings of adjustment).
If you go higher it will cause a drive line issue according to Bilstine Manufacturer in Poway CA. I have a 2002 Tundra Extra Cab, sr5 4x4. Bilstines front & back. They've lifed the truck. I don't know how far. I didn't measure before.

im about to get my lbj replaced for my 04 sequoia, already order the 5100 for both front and rear with new stock ride dobinsons springs.time to upgrade the suspension after 100k miles. one thing i wouldn't do is lifting the car, it will cause premature wear on my axles. my truck looks fine the way it is, no lift needed.

"bucking" is the word you were looking for when trying to describe the factory ride.

Good video. I'm in the process of getting the Bilstein struts put on the front and the 5100's ( shocks) put on the back of my 2012 Tundra. Can't wait to see how much of a difference it will be.

Just ordered a set, hate the factory rack. An inexpensive option to level it out.

I ordered 6112s from two different companies. There not available and probably sitting on a container ship in the ocean. I cancelled both orders. Now I'm stuck with getting 5100s.

Hey man got my new 5100 lowest setting on a Tacoma 99 prerunner but have 3” spacers on 33 tires, ride is kind of stiff but better than before, I want to get rid of spacers and go max setting but I’m afraid of stiffness, before has old pair of bilstains the ones with 3 setting, they had max setting and it was very stiff.

I have read that the front height adjustable 5100’s don’t mount to the factory coils properly without buying extra parts. I have a 2017 TRD Off-Road 4wd and want to make sure I buy everything I need. Thanks.

So after watching your video and trying to make up my mind I finally bought these 5100 shocks. I can’t wait to get them installed. To level the front end out, did you put it in the highest click? Don’t know what it’s called, setting I guess. Thanks in advance bud!

The 5100 instructions say to use number 3 ring location out of 5 rings locations.
The #3 location doesn't bring the front up level with the rear Bilstines.
Is there some reason the instructions limit the install to #3 only?

I currently have a 3” spacer lift on my 2017 Tundra, but have these shocks ready to go and install. My question is will I lose any front lift going to these shocks vs. my current spacer? Obviously the shocks are a much better lift so I’m going to do it regardless. I’m running 35’s so this is a real concern for me.

My dog seems to get sea sick, with my stock suspension I get a lot of head toss. Would you describe going your 5100s while driving in a straight line as more floating like a boat than riding like a truck?

@828findasventure

Since this was 2 years ago. Did ur bilstein 5100 shocks with zinc plated got corroded from time to time? How are the 5100’s? Do they feel the same as 4600?

Would you say these 5100’s are a smoother than stock shock. Meaning less bumpy and smooth over road irregularities over the stock ride?
