For the Saturn costume one it'd make sense if she had a Saturn themed dress or the same color palette in an outfit. There were compromises but the sister was so stubborn that she couldn't see those possibilities.

"The math isn't mathing" cracked me up. One hour to drop him off, one hour home, one hour to pick him up and one hour home again, does indeed equal four hours. I understand why she's hurt if she only gets to see him every other weekend, but the solution isn't to keep him from going. I feel like the solution is to ask to trade weekends. He can stay at his dad's this weekend and then you get him the following two weekends to get back on your normal schedule.

I had a child-free wedding. I am autistic and the sound of screaming children or crying babies stresses me out and I knew it would ruin my day. Plus we had a small DIY goth wedding. If they had older kids (late teens), we included them on the invitation so they knew they were allowed.

That last story about homecoming: the mom talks about how it's 4 hours of driving. Does that mean she plans on dropping off the kid, coming all the way home, going back, and coming back home? Why can't mom just stay at homecoming? That way she can see her son, and maybe help chaperone the dance, and drive less.

Hey Kris, with the wedding AITA where they wanted nobody under 21 to attend the reception. In the US, the drinking age is 21, chances are the couple getting married didn't want to have to police young adults. Insisting that everyone is at least 21 ensures that all attendants would be old enough to drink.
