Have you even wondered if synthetic division still works when the coefficient of the divisor is NOT equal to 1?

In this video, I will walk you through an example of how to apply synthetic division where the divisor has a coefficient of 2. This is an important skill, since you will divide polynomials by expressions that do not have 1 as their leading coefficient!

As it turns out, the process is very similar, but there is one extra step we need to consider. We first divide all of the coefficients of the dividend by the coefficient of the divisor. The remainder of the process will be the same!
