This is why i love YouTube because I wasn't born yet but i still get to see the commercials that ran in 1972 and since being able to get a better picture of the past i can better gauge the present and what the future might become for myself as a leaf in the winds of time. Keep the fire burning in the camp.

If Nixon ran today I would vote for him.

I still have my original "Nixon now" campaign buttons. I wear them every 4 years when I go to vote. Lots of people notice and strike up a conversation.

The first election I got to vote in was 1972 and as a young hippie I did not vote for Nixon. I am very thankful that he won though. One of the posters that hung in several dorm rooms on the college campus stated "Don't change Dicks in the middle of a screw. Vote for Nixon in 72."

I'm sure that, had I been a voter at that time, I'd have cast my vote for Nixon. Love that, thanks to YouTube, I can find classic commercials, and more to get an idea of what TV sounded like back then.

What a professional difference it's a about a country, not you, the person. Just the speaking speech ability.

1:02 the next year in 1973 he helped make the creation of CFM Aero Engines possible - the joint venture of GE and Safran that makes what are probably the most produced jet engines of all time.

I just picked up a few Nixon pins for his re-election bid in 1972 at a flea market. Some may be from his first run in 1960 because I got a couple I like Ike pins too. I also picked up a Nixon is the one, bumper sticker. She let me have the bumper sticker. The 4 pins were a buck a piece. One says President Nixon, the other says Nixon now. Cool old political memorabilia. There were McGovern pins, I didn’t bother with them. No Kennedy, Johnson or Humphrey stuff, must have sold all that already and I’m guessing that because it jumped from Eisenhower to Nixon and McGovern so the 60’s Democrat stuff must have all been gone already.

As his friend morbo said of Nixon: “May death come quickly to his enemies”. Haha

I turned 16 in the summer of 1972, and recall some of these ads. George McGovern (RMN's opponent) was a good man, but was too far to the left for America's tastes that year. (As Kamala Harris was in our recent election). Hubert H. Humphrey, the former Vice-President (who ran against McGovern in the Democrat primaries, earlier that year) warned his fellow Democrat party members that McGovern would take them down to a painful and resounding defeat. HHH was exactly right. McGovern managed to win just one State (Massachusetts) along with the District of Columbia.
